fseva
I was just wondering if anyone might have tried this as a substitute for BMF? It obviously has no adhesive - I'm thinking "foil adhesive" as available in craft stores... it could perhaps give a better chrome effect... Ace-Garageguy
At a minimum thickness of .002", I'm about 98% certain it's WAY too stiff for a BMF replacement. From what I've seen, BMF gives an excellent chrome effect, if properly done. The stainless foil MAY have a use as replacement chrome spears, etc., if a car has been shaved. Still be a bugger to stick it down cleanly though. Edited May 10, 2015 by Ace-Garageguy

In the meantime, I have found several sources of stainless steel foil on a self-adhesive backing. However, these are labelled for "industrial" use; so they are probably too thick. MrObsessive
What Bill said..............waaaaay too thick to be used as a substitute for BMF! I have a roll of this and I find it better suited to use it for hangers for brake/fuel lines, etc. Not sure what the thickness of BMF is, but the thickness is nigh perfect for what it does.
