is it ok to use krylon primer over duplicolor paint?

Recommended Posts

Seriously...in general you should ALWAYS test YOURSELF on the underside or hidden part of what you're working on WHENEVER you use unfamiliar materials or try to mix materials from different manufacturers.

There have been several instances where folks have gotten answers to questions like this from online forums, only to have disastrous results when they took the forum advice.

Krylon also makes SEVERAL kinds of primer, and Duplicolor makes SEVERAL paint lines, so without knowing YOUR SPECIFIC PRODUCTS, it's just not safe to answer this question.

What Bill says here I heartily reinforce! When using paints from sources other than hobby paint suppliers, it's always a good idea to stick with the same brand and type of paint within that brand from primer to color to clear coat, lest you wind up with a real mess on your hands.

Of course, with experience, you will know what works and what doesn't, but until you gain that experience, best to heed the advice given in this thread.

Yes you guys are the best. So much knowledge wow specially from the older hobbyists, it's amazing how you guys did it before through the 80s 90s when the Internet was not around or as mainstream.
