ginger

last October the wifey bought ginger for me, a 1971 Plymouth duster with a very weak 225 /6 engine

as it sits today it sports a 360 LA smallblock out of a 1975 RV

I will be building a model of her as close to the real thing as possible

so far the only problems in seeing is the 8.75 rear end that comes with the kit

the duster still has the 7.25 (with open highway gears) but I will build the model with the 8.75 which I am hoping to install at some point anyway

I will try to install the rims in a manner that allows me to change them over once I get different rims on Ginger (which wont be until after I get the rear end and possibly the front brake set-up changed over)

im planning on modifying the 360 to show the proper belt routing and that is about it

PARTS I NEED

a non rally A body dash as found in the 75 dart sport (mislabeled as a duster) and possibly the re-issue of this kit

a set of Holley valve covers as shown below

an air cleaner as seen below

I will be working on this with my 5 year old when my 19 month old sleeps so don't expect to see it move any time soon

That's a cool project, full-size and scale. You might want to get one of the AMT/Ertl Duster kits for parts. The original version has the small-block with A/C; the street machine version with the blue car on the cover does not, from what I'm told.

the "main kit" I will be using is the AMT 71 duster 340

it has (most of) the underhood A/C parts I need as well as the knee kicker outlets

im tempted to try and locate one of the 75 duster streetrods to scavenge the dash out of

or maybe the new 75 dart sport kit (unless a fellow member has one they could part with or trade me)

it will be tricky to get the 3 belt set up build but we'll see how it goes

not a whole lot to show but im chipping at her (mostly trying to gather parts)

I got some wheels done

started a little prep work on the body, mostly sanding casting lines and filling in the holes for the spoiler

why is it that every model I want to put a spoiler on I need to drill the holes myself and the one model that doesn't get a spoiler has the holes molded into the trunk?

I also started working on the oil pan

the 1:1 has a milodon unit on it (if I never get to use one of their products again it will be too soon) so I started copying one in scale

the oil pan might be wasted effort since there is a good chance I will rip off the milodon and go with something a little bit higher quality instead

the name doesn't ring a bell but that picture sure looks familiar :)

Nope different name here then at FABO... we been goin back an forth on resin parts to this build. I am 67 Power Wagon over there due to owning the type truck, I go by here what I favor most..... As anyone in the modeling world can own a Hemi, OR a few of them...... B)

LOL Yep. I favor them BUT I actually LOVE all the Mopar engines..... Justthe looks of the Hemi in a model..........well you know!

And yes, that Duster I have did in fact come with one..... NOT the greatest looking 426 Hemi but its a good stand-in..... (Old tooling)
