I read this thread & understand your first few words about getting a strong focus on a project and starting it. I started building/converting trucks about 8 months ago - I also do planes, ships, armor. I have 128 kits/projects started and wondered why so many? I have come to the realization that two factors are involved; A. I run out of reference data on a particular subject, and, B. I find new reference data to another subject that catches my eye. Guess it's time to buy a bottle of focus factor

I've done 1/25 scale Armor out of card stock - build it up with elmer's or super glue the sand & paint.

I tried posting pics of my Renwal Army Wrecker as a new post - first try to submit pictures - and can't find it anywhere. Can I get some help with this? Thanks Gregor

Thanks for the info. I do have a picture & I think my Cousin might know the model number. I don't know the yardage size - if it was gas or diesel. It wasn't as big as say a Mack or Diamond Reo Dump Truck. Thanks Again

Does anyone know of a 1964 International Dump Truck Cab in 1/25 scale? My Uncle Chip owned one when I was a wee lad. I remember him cussin' that truck one minute & arguing with my other Uncles the next minute about there not being a finer Dump on the road. Seems he put three or four motors in it. It was light blue with a black bed & frame - just found a picture of it the other day. Wow - good memories.

I think the earlier comment about younger drivers isn't about becoming owner-operators, it's about what was previously mentioned - a job, not a life style - their life style is hangin' with their friends as much as possible. I was career military and when I retired, seriously considered driving as a second career but I was hired by a trucking company and started dispatching 33 Drivers after two weeks of training. I had mostly good (and a few bad) drivers who were all 48 OTR. Their biggest complaint; "when can you get me home". This company was a big believer in drop & hook and some of my Drivers where out 30 - 40 days. A couple didn't mind staying out as long as possible - most drivers hated it & I received "I'm gonna park this _______ truck & fly home" comments on a weekly basis - One Driver did fly home from Chicago - showed up with his packet & ask for his last check. My biggest fights with my boss was gettin' my guys loads coming back west, & paying for lumpers - he hated that. These higher-ups didn't realize that these guys were out there living out of a truck - not sitting behind a desk in slacks & tasseled loafers. I went into aviation maintenance after that experience and have the utmost respect for the folks making their living on the road.

Charles - Great Conversion!! I am converting an F-1 to an F-7/F-8. I found a build/conversion article by chance - he said 2mm fender spacers - I initially went with 2mm & it didn't look right so I went with 3mm and after looking at your build - my fenders still look narrow compared to yours. What width fender spacer did you use? Thanks - Gregor

Today I picked up the 1/32 Snap Freightliner with Trailer - It looks really nice. Also bought the 1/32 Kenworth T600A - I found out Snaptite isn't a "bad word" when it comes to these truck models - I see all kinds of possibilities!
