Daddyfink
Will this be a Street Freak or a Gasser?
Terry Sumner
If I can find a top for it, it will be a legal gas car. If I cannot get a top for it, I'll make it a legal Street Roadster car...pretty much the same thing....only different! LOL
Daddyfink
Corn Dog, Hot Dog, different, yet the same! I get'cha! Didn't the Revell 59 Vette have a top? Or is that too far off? I really want to take a whack at doing the Mazmania Vette out of this one. Square wheel wells and all! Good luck, I look forward to your progress! Terry Sumner
Already cut the kit motor mounts off and repositioned them to fit this engine. Hogged out the thick plastic in the trans tunnel to give a little clearance for the trans. The body has some very small molding lines that run around the perimeter of the body that had to be sanded off. In particular very tough to get at in the area on the nose just above the raised detail that spells out CORVETTE...but I think I got it without hitting the raised letters. I also cut out the hole in the hood to allow it to fit on with the blower sticking through. I'm going to make the hood like one held on with 4 hood pins. And I just hit the body with a coat of glitter gold as a base for the Kandy Apple Red to be applied. I tell ya, I haven't been this excited about a particular model car in a long time. I think this one is gonna be cool!

Terry Sumner
what kit is that engine out of ? You know, I was asking myself that same question today...I cannot for the life of me remember. I've had it in a small box for a few years just waiting for the right car to come along to put it in. I had taken the time back then to machine up some blower pulleys and I scratchbuilt the belt tensioner and then for some reason just never used it. A 70 Chevelle seems to jog something but I'm definitely not sure on that...
W-409
Wow that looks good to me! Excellent paint job on it, even if you said it still needs more paint coats. The engine looks good too, this one will be very interesting to see, I'm tuned in! And thanks again of the Gasser rules.
1320wayne
The Moroso valve covers appear to be what was found in the 80's era Monogram pro stock Camaro kits. Paint looks great Terry.
Terry Sumner
Thanks Wayne. But alas...problems... Lot's of tiny little spots like fisheyes in the Kandy red! So the body is in the purple pond!!! My own fault. I think I rushed it and didn't allow the gold base to dry enough even though I used a dehydrator. This time I will let it dry for a day! TedsModeling
Terry - that 1:1 photo is a great look to go for. Does your kit have the removable hardtop or do you have to make one?

Terry Sumner
Ted...unfortunately this initial issue of this brand new tool kit does not come with a top,,,, Carl....not half as bad as I feel!!!
TedsModeling
Terry - I ran out to look at my model collection because I thought I had a early Corvette with a removable top. It turns out that they're a '55 Corvette (AMT #683/12) and a '53 Corvette (Revekk 85-2164. There might be other kits with a top closer to your '62. Terry Sumner
Ted...there is an AMT 62 Vette with a top. I have a couple of them on my watch list on EPAY...we'll see if I get one if it fits ok....
