Scottnkat
Here's my version of Wendell Scott's '66 Galaxie. This was based off the AMT kit. The gauge insert didn't fit, so I had to modify the dash to make it appear as it should have. The pad on the floor was replicated by using athletic tape. The shocks, rollcage and headlight covers are scratch-built. The car was lowered all the way around. The decals are by PowerSlide. I don't like the kit-supplied rear window straps, so I'll be replacing those. Here's the dash the engine and the chassis Edited October 24, 2013 by Scottnkat

DanR
Is that an aftermarket grille? If not, how did you remove the molded in emblem so cleanly?
Scottnkat
It's not an aftermarket grill at all (I'm poor with six kids and can't afford aftermarket anything). I don't remember the specifics of this build, but I usually use a scribing tool, thin file, or sandpaper
Ben
Is that the Fred Lorenzen 66 Galaxie kit that's out right now? If so, is it box stock? I'm just wondering what the kit looks like built.
Scottnkat
Nope - this was made from the stock AMT Galaxie kit. I did pick up the Lorenzen kit after I built this.
Ben
Does the Lorenzen kit have the deep reverse wheels, stock car tires, cage, etc. or is it basically a production car with some race parts added?
Scottnkat
I'm sorry, but I've not opened mine yet so I have no idea what it's really like. Maybe someone else can chime in if they know.
Lagib
Is that the Fred Lorenzen 66 Galaxie kit that's out right now? If so, is it box stock? I'm just wondering what the kit looks like built. The Lorenzen kit is a 65, not a 66.
Ben
The Lorenzen kit is a 65, not a 66. Yea, I noticed that after I made the post. My bad. I wish someone would do a review on the kit so I can see what it will look like built.
