Im looking for some pics of a Mack RL700 interior mid to late 1970s. And possibly a brochure if anyone maybe knows where i could find one. Every Mack I have driven has been the Gunmetal, Brownish Beige Tan with A steel dash. Our company in those day's was about function not form. So you know, the AMT R685ST kit builds out of the box as a 1975-1979, while the DM600 is 1970-1973. If you want an earlier R-Series swap interiors. Good luck. I was gonna go with a tan color, but i just wasnt sure. I drive a superliner and its that grey gunmetal type color inside. Im building my dads first log truck. hes got pics, but just none that showed the interior. It had a 375 V8, so im using the motor out of the DM 800 kit for my build. mredzadventure Posted February 15, 2009 Share Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) We Had a lot of those trucks back in the day. We got rid of our last Superliner about 5 years ago . It had a Mack nine speed with a Mack 300 or 330 horse power motor. I cant remember what the engine was. We would pull 100,000 pound plus loads with of water with tankers out of the landfill with it. We called her Maserati She was no speed demon but it would pull those loads with a huge belch of black smoke. Before that we had all R models 600's I believe. A lot of 300 motors with 5 speeds hauling tankers. After the superliners came the Ch models now we have Visions. Most of our old stuff was tan interior and all of the super's were gunmetal same with our Ch models lots of 100% Mack stuff many gold dogs.Sad too say we may be switching to Freigtshakers soon. Thanks Jim....for refering to our site Figuring out Mack modelnumbers isn't that hard......let's see...R685ST - R: modeltype - 6: weightclass ( R-series came in -4, -6, -7 and -8 groups ) - 85: enginemodel ( 85 is ENDT675 or -675C ) - S: six wheel - T: tractor Also, converting an AMT Mack R kit to an earlier vintage doesn't stop with swapping interiors......you'll need to swap cabs as well as the post '73 cab had a bulged rearwall ( 6" ) to create more room inside. Ofcourse you have to go the other way to convert an Ertl DM kit to do a post '73. All this info comes from my salesmansbook which I hope to upload to Fotki.....someday....
