  1. thats very nice truck there, and like the diorama too, whats the kit like to build?
  2. Simon that will look pretty good with a flat roof, and the wheels too, yeah his stuff is a little expensive, but very good quality by all accounts, I couldnt justify the £10 for the stacks at the time as i thought knowing my luck id build a right snotter of a kit and would have wasted my money. I was told though that they come flat and have to be rolled, they have instructions, so with patience should come out ok. Lee
  3. brilliant!! although i still havent got round to picking up the pete 359 snap yet, im sort of waiting for the exchange rate to rise a bit first, want my £££ to get me a little bit more truck shaped plastic first
  4. Thanks for all the comments everyone, Ive had a look at KFS stuff, and will at some point order some bits, theres another truck parts supplier in austria who has lots of goodies too. Truck Model World (am I allowed to say that here) has been doing features of chassis air plumbing and engine wiring which Id love to try sometime, probably on a spare engine. I had to do a fair bit of filling on the tanks and theyre still not very good, but at least theyre not chrome plated, although i did try plasticote chrome spray as a trial, and its quite nice, although dulls if handled too much. Lee
  5. Hi, built this recently, pretty much straight out the box, its the AMT 1:25 kit, really nice to build. The only extra part was the front bumper, kindly supplied by a fellow brit modeller. The part is US in origin, but not sure who from. The only really poor part of the kit is the exhaust stacks, somthing which would be better sourced from another kit in this case, or metal items. After I took the pics I notied one of the rear tyres was loose, it can be just about seen, my 3 yr old son decided to take the truck for a push!! luckily it survived ok. Thanks for looking, Lee
  6. thats really smart, looks great with the big rims too. Most of the real VWs I see in mainland europe have way too small rims, still thats the style I suppose. Whats this kit like to build compared to the Revell AG golf mk2? Lee
  7. Absolutely fantasic, your imagination on this is top notch, and the build quality too is superb.
  8. Hi, this is a build Ive just completed, its the Italeri 1:24 Ford LTL 9000. It started as the US wrecker kit, but after building the br wrecker body up, I really didnt like it, o just went with the standard tractor unit. Box stock, except for air lines and some bmf to touch up chrome on sprue gates. Paint was dupli colour rattle cans. Thanks for looking, Lee
  9. Very nice build, love the blue, been thinking might have to get one myself. Thought I recognised the wheels on your build, being an Alfa driver, theyre off the tamiya GTV kit My next door neighbour owns a 1990 HF integrale in bordeaux red, as soon as it comes out of its winter storage Ive asked him to take me out in it Lee
  10. The weather has improved today, so was able to get a coat of pruple on the hood and nose cone. Once its clear coated the kit is pretty much done. Mike, Ive got the gtx you mention, maybe worth digging that out soon then.
  11. Hey Rob very nice, of all the colours to choose we both go for a met purple, I wondered what the decals would look like, now I know, they work well. See you cut the rear 3/4 window sides out, i didnt have the nerve to try it, and what wheels have you gone with?
  12. I like this, and the big block fills the bay very nicely
  13. Thanks for the comments everyone, these monogram kits are superb to work with, Im guessing the reissues in revell boxes are the same old toolings too. When I was a kid I imagined everything street etc in the states had a nose down stance due to my matchbox toy cars, and its stuck with me all these years
  14. Currently working through a few projects, but due to the lousy cold weather in the UK I cant spray anything, so working on some older part built projects. This is the 1:24 Monogram `64 GTO kit, sprayed with Dupli colour rattle can, a ford UK metallic purple and dupli clear. Taken indoors at night so lighting not the best. Needs the hood and nose cone section sprayed (fat chance for the next few months then ) and couple of small parts fitting. Still novice with the BMF, and the side window trim caused me grief so ended up using silver paint along with bmf. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l210/lee...es/DSC00327.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l210/lee...es/DSC00328.jpg Thanks for looking, and any comments or critisism welcome, Lee
