Devilsnake98
Like the title says, there will be a twist with this Revell 1965 Chevelle. Will be using some styling cues from a 66 Chevelle, mostly the rear window treatment, also known as a flying buttress. Ive always wanted to see what a 65 would look like with the flying buttress, so here we go. Also will be opening up the rear wheel wells to the size of a 66. Will be a pro touring theme to this one, can't decide if I want to try and make a c6 corvette chassis work, or just modify the chevelle suspension. I have a couple sets of wheel/ tires from member Shucky, they look great, maybe a little big for this car, but still look good. Also I cant decide on what wheel center to use, Im thinking the second one, it looks similar to the original Z-16 wheel. Here is where im at so far. I sectioned the back of the roof and rear window area instead of the whole roof, and blended the 65 roof body line into the buttress of the 66 part. Len Woodruff
What putty did you use to fill the rear back light? Looks like it filled really well.
Devilsnake98
The putty is white squadron, I did too heavy of a first coat, so there was some gaps, but a couple more small applications here and there got it.
Len Woodruff
Thank Ryan. That really added an unique twist to the formal roof!

Devilsnake98
I have the rear wheel wells opened up using a 66 chevelle wheel well as a template, they match the style of the fronts pretty well. Also got rid of the front wheel well moldings, going for the smooth/ shaved look a little on this one. I will have pics when I get off work. Devilsnake98
As promised, here is a few pics of the new rear wheel wells, and the wheel well moldings and all side emblems shaved. Have my mind set on the second set of wheels too, they are the big fuch's from Shucky. Still haven't decided on a color for the body or the wheels. Will be trying to make up my mind on this ASAP. Devilsnake98
Its been a while, but I got this chevelle back out and have been working on finishing the roof. Some more putty and sanding, couple coats of dupicolor filler primer, and some more sanding, especially getting the body line above the drip rail to taper off correctly on the sail panels. this is where im at now. Can get a little better look at what it will actually look like.
freakshow12
I love these types of mods. Most will look at it and think something looks different but not be able to pinpoint the changes. Good stuff
