I figure the Van is perty short as it is.

I'm perty proud of the first part of the roll cage, it fits the body perty Tight.

I'll Love to do a van with a First half Chop top with a Vista Cruiser style Roof.

Yup, I've had that dream for a Long time (since the early 80s B) )

Are the engraved lines so shallow or do you have a thick primer?

I always had that problem when using spraycan primers, they always filled up the panellines, since I use the airbrush, it is pretty much gone and such a relief.

The van looks great, what colorideas do you have for it?

Naaaa, Ya could barely see any detail on it before the Primer.

O Well, Less wind resistance ;)

Dis one?

Don't think the grill really works for it tho.

No Death Sentence here but it will chug along slowly

Good gawd! What did they do to that thing?

I think LSD was really big back then (before my time)

Lil bit of work.

4 of my 6 point rollcage.

P1270004.jpg

I used a straightened out paper clip to keep the shape of the hollow plastic tubbing I used the for the rollcage.

Lil bit of Tamiya Gray Primer, Grill has been Black Washed with The Detailer Black wash.

Ride height has not been finalized quit yet.

Rob Z, DoubleD

Thanks, I don't know how they'd do the cage so I'm just winging it.

I was gonna try and reuse a Nascar cage but they all seem a bit on the short side ;):D

BTW: I just google Ford van and Vista Cruiser roof and there it was.

I love Google, My G/F Hates it. she says I use it waaay too much.

My Memory just aint as sharp as Ole Double D or he lives in a Library

Foxer

The Detailer Black wash really does help a Chrome grill look Better.

I was trying to figure out just what yr the grill really is to see how to detail it better.

Does www.vannin.com have a Photo gallery or is it just hunt and peck?

I'm already looking for a 1:1 van ;)

Harder to find than I thought.

The Creative Explorer

Color wise, I'm thinking an Old Ambulance, White w/orange maybe.

Unsure If I'm age it or make it shine.

I don't know tho, it sure looks good in Primer

also still on a wheel hunt.

Have a look here for lots of pics of '71-'77 Mopar vans:

http://moparbvans.proboards.com/index.cgi?

Having owned a '77 shorty for a few years I can guarantee you there's no way on a 1:1 you'd be able to tuck the tire up that high in the front. Now on a model, anything is possible, but the pic you posted of the late model Japanese van is about as low as you can realistically go in 1:1 without cutting the wheel wells up and taking away the remaining foot room for the driver and passenger.

Looking good so far, Rodney. :D

as an olds guy, it really sickens me that some one cut up not one but two vista cruisers to make that thing!

Interior wheelwells are tubbed and they really don't leave alot of footroom before or after.

Interiortubbed.jpg

You only need room for the Go Pedal.

I'm also using a 4 spd tranny so I will be using paddle shifters and an Auto clutch.

Or, it's a Automatic 4spd? IDK. :o

One of my issues is doing the front suspension. If anybody has an Idea of maybe a kitbash

or something, I'm open for ideas.

Tubbed interior tub, Only kidding around with it tho, it won't be sitting this low. (another project?)

P2010001a.jpg

Don't pay attention to the brake calipers, they're just rolling around for now.

Stock Interior tub

Lets so your Vans Count and Lyle

I'm not going to opt for a Community build tho, I haven't finished 2 already.:blink:

They did a round headlight grille for those vans but it didn't look much like the one in the kit.

The real one looked like this,,

197.jpg

Gotcha on that one. :P

I just wanted to see the mess they made.

They just fudged the grill like monogram did on the Ramcharger.

A little from column A (1977)

A little from Column B (1980)

Mix them up and ya get No Particular yr but a few all in one.

Thanks. :D

Alrightie, Rod, here's mine...

miller001-vi.jpg

It's going to be a dually 5th wheel hauler eventually. After I'd been reading the Dajiban thread, I dug it out and walled off the back end, and did a little more bodywork today. It might even end up with a big, polished airfoil on the roof.

Then again, I've never built a 'Red Green' Model, and I have another ambulance kit, so maybe I'll build one of these...

Some simulated scale duct tape, a few 50 gallon drums from the C-600 stake kit, and bingo-bango, DIY Applesauce machine! :P

Cool, I've thought about doing something like that too if I can get an Extra Dodge Van.

I'm not too sure about the AppleSauce Paver.

That'll make some awfully dirty AppleSauce.

Duct tape would be easy, just get some Dull BMF I'd think?

I did see the build of the Red Green Van Thread.

On a Sad note, I've never watched the Red Green show.

Even tho I thought I might have ran across One episode, Maybe, Long Long time ago.
