  1. Builders, I must apologize. It's terribly irresponsible to start a build-off and then just disappear. But around Oct 2022, I just got utterly burned out on modeling. I picked up another hobby and I've been doing it ever since. I'm only now starting to get back to the modeling bench. I hope those of you who built a model for this enjoyed it and finished it. I'm very sorry to let everyone down. I will NOT be starting any more CBP's. Rob
  2. This is my beater Cougar with a very 70's vibe to it. It was inspired by another famous 70's beater. Check the tag.
  3. Not too bad for a scratch-built EFI intake.
  4. Very likely. I parted out one of those many years ago for another Cannonballer. After the Cannonball I dressed her up as a Carrera Panamericana racer. Corvette suspension and the 427. The Impala is coming along nicely. I lowered the suspension a scale two inches so the increased tire size didn't make the car ride higher and look silly.
  5. I'm not sure what kit these wheels/tires came from but I've been saving them for a special project. I have the bosses modified for mounting. I'm very pleased with the kit engineers. Some forethought was involved. The wheel mounting posts aren't just some arbitrary size, they are 2.5mm in the front and 3.0mm in the rear. Making it easy to modify and re-drill the wheel bosses. I also added disc brakes to the inner surface of the wheel back so that it looks pretty authentic. More soon.
  6. I don't know why I'm getting double posts when I add photos but I am.
  7. Scratch building an EFI intake. I'm going to add power steering, modern wheels/tires, and brakes. Paint, I'm undecided on but this Impala has a beautiful bodyline so a two-tone is likely.
  8. Yep. Still around. Just not around these parts. About two years ago, my modeling ADHD was kicking my butt pretty hard to the point where I got burned out. So I started doing a little fiction writing. I've been pretty deep in that now for about a year and a half. But lately, I've been looking at the stash and the state my hobby room has devolved into, and I think it's time to clean up the cobwebs. The seventeenth running of the Cannonball CBP. Man, that is pretty darn cool. I never would have dreamed it.
  9. Well, It's been nearly two years since I've done any model building. Another hobby has occupied me. I think maybe it's time to clear off my bench and get back to it. I think I'll throw my hat in the ring here if that's okay. A build like this with fairly minimal mods seems like a good way to ease back into it. Sign me up for an AMT 1967 Impala. It looks like a nice kit. Lots of detail. I think my mods will be a wheel and disc brake upgrade, a scratch-built EFI intake on the kit 427, and some headers. Paint will be the real challenge.
  10. I'm very happy to see this CBP still going. I saw last year's winner and it was magnificent. Keep on building guys.
  11. I was not successful with those decals. I'll be painting them after all.
  12. Michelle, the old MPC '67 builds up just fine, but the Revell kit is far superior.
