MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. The interior as you mention is a sad representation of what it should be. It would be nice to see a long bed version of the kit.
  2. I have that Monster Truck kit (minus the axles and tires) here somewhere, probably have that front brush guard. I will check tonight and see if I can find it.
  3. I'd rather they pour money into a series of pickups to replace the poor offerings we have of the last of the squarebodies (81-91). If the could find the top to the Pulldozer Blazer they could create a stock 73-80 Blazer using the axles and engine from the recent reissue 76 step side pickup.
  4. Thanks for sharing, I love this show but unfortunately had to be out of town on a work assignment and missed it.
  5. Heard some talk that the 85 Blazer is getting closer to reality. There were some test shots seen and it looks beautiful. Fingers crossed, I might be ordering a case of them.
  6. I believe the towing museum is in Chattanooga TN, where many wreckers are made.
  7. I'm with Zoom Zoom on this. While the finished product does somewhat resemble the 1:1, it's a far cry from being a true replica. More time spent refining the finish on the model would yield a better result; I see a rough pebble grain finish and a coat of clear would only exacerbate the flaws. Might want to work on that aspect of the printing.
  8. Have you checked out ST Supply ? Paul took over the Scenes Unlimited line and has some great truck tire options. https://stsupplyco.com/collections/scenes-unlimited
  9. Iceman Collections has this grille https://icemancollections.com/products/1-25-1970-chevy-grille The current issue of the AMT 72 pickup is easily available, have you looking into it for parts? I might have some NOS Modelhaus parts for the original kits/promos, send me a PM of what you are looking for and I will check.
  10. If you are up for some scratchbuilding, that could be done with some Evergreen or Plastruct sheet goods. Another option is to modify the camper in the recent 65 El Camino.
  11. Tom, Your masters are fantastic (I have a few resin castings of your work!) and I will have to grab this latest work, by chance have you considered doing a short bed version of this Ford bed? I personally would love to have a few if they ever became available.
  12. That is killer! You have quickly mastered the weathered/patina look and this one is awesome. Nice work buddy!
  13. The target market with this particular kit is not us adult builders, it is the young kid who thinks the truck is cool or who has a relative that drives one and wants a replica. That said, haven't compared the earlier kit with this one to see if it could be kit bashed.
  14. Don't be surprised if Round 2 comes out with a 4wd version of the long bed in the next year or two, it's a natural. The question is if they can find any of the parts shown above.
