Bricksonwheels
Well this is my first post in this section. So now and then I post some of my models in the trucks session, but this time i have created a motorbike out of lego's. This Harley Davidson FLH Bagger is inspired by the famous 'Red Baron' Fokker DR.1 WW I triplane flown by Manfred von Richthofen. Build in Lego scale 1:10 it features many custom electroplated chrome bricks, and the same color scheme as the original aircraft. hope you like it
TooOld
Are you kidding Me ! ? ! ? That's incredible ! ! I really love the trucks that you've built but this really blows me away . Can you give a little more info about it ? How big is it , how many bricks , etc . . .
Bricksonwheels
Thanks Bob. I haven't meassured it, but it is around 9 to 10 inches i guess. The number of bricks will be around 500. Of those a fair share is chromed afterwards with real chrome, not just a paintjob. It took me about 4 weeks to build. I actually have a few more bikes standing around, I love to build them. Harry P.
Tell me more. Is that built using only "regular" Legos? Or is that some sort of special Lego set?
TooOld
Harry , Dennis has more of these builds posted in the Trucks section . Check 'em out !
Bricksonwheels
Indeed they are all genuine bricks. They only thing not standard is the chroming. ABS can be electroplated with true chrome, and I have a batch of bricks chromed so now and then. My builds are always from scratch and have nothing to do with Lego sets. I use Lego as I like the bricks as building material.
Sixties Sam
That's amazing! Great work! I had Legos when they first came out and all you could make was buildings. They've come a long way! Your bikes are works of art! Sam
