What did you see on the road today?

Recommended Posts

Easiest way for a novice is to email it to yourself. Look at the picture on the screen, (I'm on an Iphone) in the lower left corner there's a rectangle with an arrow coming out the top of it, click on that... that takes you to a page with "send" options. Select email, then just email it to yourself.

Thanks Tom.

Being an OTR truck driver I get to see a lot of interesting sites and vehicles on the road. Every once in a while I get a chance to snap a shot.

This was a classic mid 30's Chevy street Rod pickup in Arkansas.

Saw what appeared to be a 440 6 Barrel Road Runner running down the road while I checking out a gas station near work that has just started selling E85 (must have been introductory pricing, paid $2.09/gal tonight!!!!!) Kinda surprised me too, it looked more like a restoration or a proper clone vs a Road Runner with a flat black 6 pack/barrel hood.

There is a clean white '77-79 Ranchero parked at a gas station I drive by every day..also saw a red t-bucket hot rod parked in the valet lot at an Italian restaurant I like..

Also a Ram Pro Master and the new Ford Transit in the wild for the first time today.

Last weekend: A late '30s Packard convertible with an insanely beautiful paint job; a shade of metallic green, on the teal side, that I don't think I've ever seen on a car before. And then, a local car: Dr. Mead had his '46? '47? Cadillac convertible out for a drive. Black on red with a tan top. The car is sublime. Dr. Mead was known for his collection of Stanley Steamers, but he's in his '80s now and I'm guessing he gave those up in as that they're quite a handful to drive and maintain.

Over the last couple of weeks, at repair shop only a block or two from my house, I've seen parked there a very nice '55 Ford Fairlane. An equally nice '59 El Camino. And a not perfect, but very nice, what I believe to be a CJ-3 Jeep. They were not all there at the same time. In the past six months, I also saw an early 50's Cadillac there. I'm wondering if they are getting a reputation for being able to work on old stuff? Have to keep my eyes open when passing by.

135 Toyota Camrys! Yea, drove by the local Toyo store... only comes in something like 5 colors so many of them are exactly the same. Friggin appliances give me the shivers! I want to buy something reasonable in cost but still with a bit of cool about it... wife wants "a white Camry like everyone else." Where did I get this woman?

Sorry, I was trying to bore myself to sleep the other day while sick by reading about this new Camry and ran across that on Jalopnik :P

Coming back home from New Hampshire on I-81, stopped at a Golden Corral in Maryland to find this beauty sitting in the parking lot.

Owner was outside with it, asked him if the "383" badging on the hood was false advertising, he didn't say a word, but just popped the hood to reveal a factory stock 426 HEMI. I asked him if I could hear it, he said sure and was even gracious enough to let me crank it! Talk about a purrrrrtttyyy car.
