hooknladderno1
Hi Gang, Just received this Crown Premiums 1/24 scale diecast 1950 Ford Stepvan to replicate my hometown's original "Emergency Unit". As you can see, the diecast has 2 sets of horizontal raised bars that need to be removed. Any suggestions on how to do so without damaging the surrounding areas? Thanks! High octane
Can you say Dremel?
Ace-Garageguy
Yeah, work it down carefully with a Dremel, probably a drum-sander tip, but NOT all the way to the surface. Finish taking it the rest of the way flush with a flat file.
High octane
And while using a Dremel tool, please wear your SAFETY glasses as modern medicine & technology hasn't found a way to replace the eyes as of yet. Thanks!
kruleworld
should be an interesting project. keep us updated. Yeah, work it down carefully with a Dremel, probably a drum-sander tip, but NOT all the way to the surface. Finish taking it the rest of the way flush with a flat file. btw, i've found the 1/4" drum a lot more useful and easier to control than the 1/2". especially for grinding styrene. Thanks! And a dust mask. It looks like you only need to remove the bottom one.
