MCM Ohana

MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. Very nice for a MOPAR guy. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  2. Very nice build. I built the same kit almost 40 years ago and the decals have pretty much held up and I did not even clear coat them.
  3. Are you sure he has the flat hood for the Revell kit? The resin coupe he made used the Revell Boss 351 kit hood.
  4. A cutout hood from the Johan funny car worked for the AMT and MPC Mustang kits but I do not think it will work very well on the Revell Boss 351 and Mach1 kits. Iโ€™m guessing by this fall we will see an Eleanor version of a modified Mach1 kit and with the flat hood announced. At least that is what I hope happens since pre-productions shots have been out a while. I would also like to see a 73 Mach1 version with the larger front bumper and the 73 only Mach1 decals and a 72 Sprint which came with the flat hood. The sprint decals are from Keith Marks.
  5. A search in Scalemates would be a good start. It has listings for resin, plastic and metal kits from the last 90 years. Once you narrow down when a kit was made the next challenge is of course finding one. You may end up searching for custom 3D printed ones for more off beat subject matter
  6. No #223 in the mail yet. Hopefully I will see it by the end of the month. Miami FL
  7. Link below to a post in 2020 in a case some of you missed it. I still have not gotten very far with the DDP kit as I was not happy with the simplistic chassis and was planning to use a Fujumi kit as the base.
  8. Sometimes going back for a second look is enough to get the project going again. Glad to see this one taking a step forward.
  9. https://www.davemacdonald.net/gallery/closeups/daytonacobrarestored.htm Crazy story behind how 2287 was โ€œlostโ€ for decades.
  10. Automodello makes some beautiful resin cars and are priced accordingly. They are only sold as finished models and are not available in kit form. The detail in 1/43 looks the same as the 1/24 ones. Here is the 1/43 Mustang I along with a Cougar II and Bordinat Cobra.
  11. Life is short. Keep building. So far I have only built one and that was decades ago. I forgot I also built a Supercoupe Mini Exotics kit which I believe you had a hand in creating
  12. I see what your are saying about the microscopic print. I almost grabbed a grey bottle instead of flat black because it was in the wrong rack at HL. I guess Testors has to squeeze all the legal disclaimers on the labels so someone does not swallow the contents.
  13. Very nice paint and modifications and additions to the kit.
  14. Thanks. I did not glue the firewall to allow for some give in as getting the chassis to mate up with the engine compartment is tricky. Everything is a tight fit.
  15. Since I already built the Boss 351 kit I was familiar with this kit. Lessons learned were not to apply some as the decal until the very end as I had applied decals #22 and #23 on the radiator support but while handling it to fit the chassis and interior into the body they came off and I lost them. One change I made was I used a different air cleaner since the 007 car was a non-ram air 429 C code. Comments are welcome.
