The old Firestones were from a parts buy I made about a year ago. I have no idea what they were from or even if they are kit tires, but they are very old. The lettering had been painted white, rather the worse for wear, so I shot them with primer. Thanks for the nice comments on the deuce- tried for a traditional build, spiffed up with some midnight blue paint.

Paul Payne
Now that is an extremely nice traditional hot rod!!! That's how they actually looked "back in the day"!!! Clean, as well built & painted as possible, but showing wear & tear from being driven, not "thrown together" junk in some affected attempt at "coolness"!!! Nothing against rat rods, but this is how "old school"really was!!!! No ridiculous beer cans for intakes, no ###### faux "aged look", no exposed welds, no sharp edges & no rust being passed off as "patina"!! Paul, if you can't tell I really, really, really like this model, I do! A lot!!! Great weathering on the seat, great realistic look on the engine, just a really great build in every way!! Thanks for the kind words, Mark. I really enjoy the hot rods from the 30's and 40's, this model tries to represent that. The companion deuce is metallic maroon, built to represent a 1 owner car gradually updated with disc brakes, wider tires, and a newer engine- otherwise much the same. I have had header issues on the maroon deuce, currently on the fourth set...............once I get that resolved, the rest of the build should go well, then on to the Black Widow rebuild. By the way, Mark, your cat looks fine to me.................. Edited September 7, 2008 by Paul Payne
