Swifster
Does anyone make the half moon hub caps that VW used up to 1965? Tamiya's 1966 Beetle has the '66 and newer hub caps. Edited June 1, 2014 by Swifster
Danno
I don't know of any resin or aftermarket sources, but the recently-issued Revell Spiderman VW Beetle kit has a beautifrul set of those caps, along with the proper wheels ~ ~ ~ and a set of smooth baby moon caps ~ ~ ~ plus two sets of mags! You probably wouldn't pay much less for 4 resin caps than you'll pay for the entire Spiderman kit.

Tumbe
Gunze/Mr Hobby Beetle (1956 oval) has those hub caps. Also Hasegawa Type 2 panel van and pickup kits have similar hub caps.
