Who is the diesel turbo expert?

Anybody out there an expert on putting a twin turbo on a Cat 3408 V8 diesel truck engine?

I'm scratching my head on this one.

Not an expert; but I think the 3408's had one one the back; to go to twin setup; just cut out the center section; and mount one turbo on the back of each side exhaust manifold. You should have "handed" turbo's as you want both sides blowing into the middle; intakes on the front; and exhaust to the rear. It will take a little plumbing work; but should be pretty easy to accomplish. Having a diagram would help; if not, just google Twin Turbo; and I'm sure a gozillion images will come up. IMO it doesn't really matter of gas or diesel; if you like the physical setup....do it.....................Matt

You also have to decide how you want your system to be designed if it's not replicating a stock setup. With twin turbos there are two different ways to plumb them. In most stock two turbo applications the turbos are the same size and both feed air into the intake. On the pulling circuit the turbos are often two differnt sizes with a stockish size turbo used to spool up a gigantic turbo. Ford even used this setup on the Powerstroke for a while. A small quick spooling turbo builds boost at low rpms to reduce turbo lag and as boost pressure increases some boost is diverted to begin spooling the big turbo for high rpm operation.
