taaron76 Posted October 18, 2014 Share Posted October 18, 2014 Hello fellow modelers, My name is Tim and I recently decided to get back in the modeling hobby after being away from it for 15+ years. I wanted to do this model as a tribute to my Dad, who recently passed away in July with a year long battle with cancer, because as he was building real race cars, I was building models as a kid. He used to race/build with Terry LaBonte is Corpus Christi, TX, many years ago and my Mom bought me this one back in 1998, but I never got around to starting it. I've been browsing through the pics in this forum and I have a lot to learn from the pro's. Here's my partially completed build in over 15 years. There is a member here, Old Coyote, who is #1, a great builder, #2, a race car nut and #3, a Terry Labonte fan. Look for his posts. He has tons of Terry Labonte models that he has completed. So much has changed in the last 15 years. Acrylic paint is the newest thing I had no idea existed, until I stocked up on them. So far, I really like them... especially with cleaning out the airbrush and brushes. I haven't painted a two-tone car yet with acrylic, so wish me luck.
