6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb"

Another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"

15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct

19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a light bulb forum

11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum

36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty

5 People to post pics of their own light bulbs

.....and to make it more environmentally relevant, or for anyone conscious of his (minus 10 points...not PC) carbon footprint, the merits of changing to the 'bulb-lite' could be brought in......

Bill your statement got my attention.....so i did some research.....and in Lite of it all i must agree....

Thanks Harry. I'm glad this put a smile on everyones face. I read this on a car forum earlier in the day and it got even better. Someone posted asking information about the performance and mpg advantages of installing a K&N air filter in their car. Immediately the thread lit up with the type of posts this joke makes light (or is it lite) of.

You left out:

1) The person who chimes in with "I have a NOS GE 4735 30W projector bulb, still mint in the package"

...followed by:

2) "do you want to sell it? I have been looking for one of those for years!"

...and we also have:

3) "That was the first light bulb I ever changed. I used it all through high school"

...and then:

4) Person who posts the ebay link for said light bulb.
