Ace-Garageguy
Came across this old wrecker being used as a billboard recently. I have more pix if anyone wants to build it. Edited February 22, 2013 by Ace-Garageguy
mikemodeler
That would be so cool to have a modern drivetrain in and hit the car shows with!
Eshaver
That truck would be a hit if someone could restore it , STOCK drive and all. I nearly bought a used Holmes crane just like that in the early 1990's myself . The problem was a lack of some needed pieces ................... Ace-Garageguy
I agree. I'd rescue it if I had A) any more room and any more money. It's a very solid truck, amazingly, and still has the big truck flathead in it.
Eshaver
Bill, you mean an 8-EL Block ?????????
Ace-Garageguy
Crawling around it while trying to stay clean, I got the impression it is the 337c.i. 8EL, as what I can see of the plug wires looks like the distributor is in the rear. I'll be going back to see if I can get the hood or the hump open and get some more pix, as it is apparently owned by a wrecker company I use fairly regularly.
