I'll get some up later today, as I'm at work now & unable to take any. What I can say is, that it shares many parts with the Coupe. The wheels/tyres are awesome! Perfect replication of the 1:1. The kit looks as good as the coupe ??

Have you ever built a Tamiya kit? Very similar... There are some intricate pieces but very well detailed & easy enough to assemble... As always.. Patience ? I have the Murcielago SV & Aventador hard-top. All are top quality & build into great replicas ??

  • 2 weeks later...

What I like is seeing all those sprue supports to keep the body from warping

It's good that they're there before you have to cut them away... Then the frame/body becomes very fragile... Trust me... I already snapped the 2 supporting sections, a 2-3mm section on the bottom of the front wheel arches... Easily fixed with superglue & will be held together once the side body parts are added after painting. ?

Keep the support sprues on until you are complete with the painting and polishing. I learned the hard way from my coupe. While polishing, I got small hairlines cracks in the paint from the body flexing.

It would be nice if you could keep the sprues in place until after paint/sand/polish but due to their locations you can't... Unless you want to touch up all the areas they're located on & that's really not an option on this particular car ?

It was more accidental that I broke mine, it snagged while I was taking it off the bench & because of it's fragility... Pop ? it went. But like I said... Easy enough fix & will eventually be held in place by the side panels ??

My kit has just arrived, but it's a different version - will post a pic when I get home tonight.

Paul, Aoshima did two box arts , one is for the Japan market, and the other is for export , it sounds like you got the Japan market box art, as this one I believe is the export box art

Aoshima does this on purpose, the Lamborghini Murcielago Superveloce and the Mclaren Longtail GTR both had duel box arts, the reason being is Aoshima wants to give something different to the export market, sort of like a reason to buy, and they also include extras that the JDM market kits dont get, like the export Lambo Murcielago kit (white car box art) had the lager SV decals, where as the JDM kit did not get those same decals. The Longtail Mclaren kit also had some extra decals and I think some other parts the JDM market kit did not get, that box art had the orange car box art.

that body is going to take some doing to get free from those support sprues! I don't think I would trust a nipper, I would probably use some photoetch razor saw xacto blades and then try to be strategic about where I cut and in what order. looks like a possibly eventful evening to me...
