  1. I agree with little drummer boy, and enjoy the hymns playing softly as I do my shopping. There is some religious merchandise, but there could be anywhere, just as crude merchandise could be anywhere. No one has ever mentioned religion to me in Hobby Lobby, they have things I need, and I enjoy shopping with them..
  2. My working career was 40 years spent 8 to 5, M to F, at a desk pushing papers. Being now retired, I am pleased to be able to spend my days on my own schedule, going and coming as I wish, mostly just being in a coffee club, running errands and eating lunch. Less is more. And, of course, blessings too numerous to mention.
  3. Yes, you can google Plastic Performance Products, and get lots of information. The actual business is owned by David Hawkins and he is a pleasure to deal with. He is in Asheville, North Carolina, and the number is 828 670 1450. The tire decals that I have gotten from him are Firestone. He tells me that any of his tires will fit any of his wheels. I have not tried the dirt tires yet.
  4. Isn't that question sorta contradictory of your signature line ? Watch for a pm or listen for a phone call this week.
  5. I do appreciate the kind words, but at my age, I am finding almost all of them challenging in one way or another. I will be 75 in November, and whatever I do in the future, will be pretty much box stock. I still have a few boxes around here, and three started. I wish I could get them all done, but what racer knows when his last win will come ? I have not thrown one against the wall .............................. YET.
  6. lol I once saw a ' 56 Chevy short track car that had ' 55 Chevy trunk and rear fenders. (Or maybe the other way around. )
  7. Yes, I really did build a model ! This is a Freddy Fryar " could have been ," as Freddy is my all time favorite driver. It is the ' 36 Plymouth Tobias modified, built box stock, except that I chopped off the trunk, and added PPP 5 wide wheels and modified tires. The number is a decal, and the sponsors are hand lettered. I made up Super Lube on the hood, and 'Nooga Motel and Café on the trunk. Freddy was from Chattanooga, Tennessee. He used the number 48 in his earlier career and later changed to 14. He won a ton of short track races in the days of the Allisons, Red Farmer, Bob Burcham, Jody Ridley, Coo Coo Marlin, and many others across the Southeast. Many thanks to J2 for posting it for me, and I hope you guys like it.
  8. See J2's post on Under Glass.
  9. Me too ! lol Maybe J2 will start a new topic, and I will tell about it in text.
  10. Tried again, and failed to get this car posted. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks. So .................... if the powers that be want to delete this entire post, it will be ok with me. Not so much into building as I used to be anyway. But I will still be watching what you guys are doing, especially 2002p51, and james2, my heroes.
  11. Thanks, J2. I will, but not tonight.
