  1. That looks good! What car kit did those pipes come in?
  2. I built the Revell reissued snap tite kit (95%) complete. For a snap kit it's NOT BAD AT ALL!!!! http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...&p=74385422 Also I just started to building the R/G 359. This one I'm building as a day cab. I had to cut out the back of the cab of a AMT 359 to use on the R/G cab. http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...&p=74577399
  3. Dan For the service/emergency air lines (blue and red) I use some old computer cable/wires (example from the printer to the comp) Use a razor and cut the jacket open and you'll find a series of smaller wires inside. Cut a section out about 10 inches long. Tape one end of the wire to a think wire coat hanger w/ a diameter less that 3/16 inchand wrap it around several times. Use a lighter, butane fueled micro torch, or even a heat gun and warm up the wire then let it cool. Do this will allow the coils retain form. http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...&p=73989143 For the air lines you would find plumbed from relay valves, emergency valves to brake chambers the rubber tubing found in AMT kits is perfect. http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...&p=67210297 For the plastic 3/8 and 1/2 inch air lines I experimented w/ fishing wire. http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...&p=73330542 You can scratch build the various air valves out of styrene. Companies such as Bendix,Midland,Sealco,Tramec,Haladex are manufacturers of these. Good Luck
  4. what's goin' on... I managed to get a little more work done to the Peterbilt 359 (set back front axle) Photos 7-11 are the latest! Thanks for looking!!!! http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...&p=74303343
  5. Aaron I have serveral Peterbilt kits from Italeri,Revell Germany, AMT, and most recent the Revell Monogram. That one is an impressive kit for a snap-tite kit. I was a little reluctant at first only wanting it for a doner/bash kit but after looking at it I plan on using an AMT 359 to bash for R/M. Needless to say I'll be getting a few more of these 359 kits. Alot of truck modelers will tell ya the AMT 359 is the worst kit they ever attmpted to build. I like it because it's definitly a challenge to get it right!!!! Here are three AMT 359 projects I've done. http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...&p=66655042 "In Progress" http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...4037002&f=0 "In Progress" http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...4277605&f=0 Using the Momogram/Revell snap tite 359 and an AMT 359 I'm thinking about building this truck here. (At least trying to I'm still not that great at multi tone paint jobs ) http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...&p=73996312
  6. Aaron Trace the cab on sheet styrene then cut out the pattern take into consideration the thickness of the cab and adjust your cut so the floor fits snug. This will take a few attempts to get it right. Add interior components from a donor kit as needed. I've been doing this on various AMT truck kits eleminating the interior tub. Here's a picture of just that. This is an AMT 359 I've been working on now about 90% completed (NOT THE SET BACK FRONT AXLE 359 in a recent post) http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...&p=73989136
  7. What's goin' on... Here's the weathered shot! http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...&p=74284707
  8. What's goin' on.... Here's a project I've been working on lately. Originally I built this truck 3 or 4 years ago. About 2 years ago it was damaged and I set it w/ my other trucks that needed repaired. Here's what it looks like so far! http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...&p=74277605 Thanks for looking!
  9. Aaron. What kit did you bash to get that light bar from? I'd like to get one of those! In the past I've always used the Ghostbusters Caddy kit for this style light bar http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...&p=73989142 Scott
  10. Joe Yeah I know who that guy is from another discussion group.(MTDG) I haven't heard/seen any projectsfrom him in a long time though.
  11. Ken That's been on my to-do list for a few years now only I'd like to use the GMC General or the Chevy Bison. There's a ROADWAY terminal down the street from me (Columbus,Ohio) I've been meaning to go there and ask somone in operations if I could get pictures of that set up. One of these years I'll do it. Good Luck!
  12. Aaron When ya hear someone refer to a diesel be it Cat Cummins Detroit 350 or 475 that's refering to the horsepower. For an older Cummins it might be refered to as an 855 NTC 350 855 is the cubic inch N is a suffix ... four valves per cylinder T is turbo charged C is Custom Rated 350 is the rated horsepower
  13. Aaron. The Cummins Big Cam was an inline 6 cylinder engine released in 3-4 different versions displacing 855 cubic inches. As far as knowing the 1:1 engines I've done minor repairs maintence to them. My strong points are trailer repair(14 years of it). Another fella here named Mark (building the Ford service truck) has been a truck mechanic for 20+ years if I remember. He's the guy you'll want to ask if you've got a technical question about eninges. Here's a Big Cam Cummins http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...&p=73258276 As far as the Snap Tite 359 kit goes...... I've only heard about it but I'm looking forward to getting my hands on one of those 3406 Cats. I got a late model KW W900 conversion I'd like to use that Cat in. If the quality is so -so it can be always be detailed better.
  14. Aaron. I recall reading your post on a different discussion group. I worked in the shop for Overland Transportation Systems (bought out by Vitran) back in 1994. The terminal I worked at had these very trucks. Most of them had 350 CUMMINS (single screw) and only one of the twin screw trucks had 400 CUMMINS. I'd use the Big Cam engine from one of the AMT kits. I was thinking that the conversion you had was a set forward front axle w/ the rectangular headlights. You could do is use the 3208 Cat. I'm using that in a 7 axle dump truck using two turbo assys from Paystar kits to make it look like it's been turned up(HP). (I haven't worked on that project in two years LOL) http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?...7262841&f=0 OR be patient and work on another project because Monogram is re-releasing the Peterbilt 359 snap tite kit soon. This has a 3406 Cat. It may be worth waiting so you could bash that 359 kit for it's Cat motor? I'm looking forward to getting a few of those kits for bashing!
