  1. Bear with me. It might take a while but I will make sure it's a nice finished product. It's a little tough to get stuff for models out here in hawaii. No one will ship flammable products ttome out here so I have to have a source in Oahu that sends me things. Waiting on paint at the moment. By this Friday I hope to have my testers Dimond dust silver and Tamiya clear red that will be used for the cab frame and block. I'm going to make this one a custom dropped standard frame. Well at least a shot at it.
  2. Hey guys. First off I'm excited to start this build. Got started on the engine block yesterday and seems to be going well. Needing to pick up some tools from work like small clamps and some blades for this build. I been noticing that there will be a lot of sanding with this amt kit. I was hoping to make this engine kind of custom by making it twin turbo. Has anyone ever hot rod engines that don't come out with turbos on them? I just think it would be fun and a little different to see on the build fforum's.i was wanting to paint the engine to match the cab and frame that will be a candy red. Anyone have ideas for what I will be needing to use to keep this scale in appearance? Thanks for any advice! I'll post some pictures layer today!
  3. I plan on using rust-oleum automobile primer. It's wet sandable.will this stuff melt the plastic?
  4. Hello all. I'm receiving my at freightliner Coe today and would like to start getting the frame setup. What's a good way to get it right the first time?
  5. I will pick one up and give it a shot tomorrow. Thanks for the tips guys!
  6. I tried to cut some tubing and let's just say it was bad. Really bad. What do you guys use to cut your aluminum tubing? I was thinking of using a dremel and small cut off wheel. Any ideas?
  7. Thanks for all the tips guys. What's a good place to order styrene for frames?
  8. I just got a white freightliner dual drive coe kit on the way and am kind of nervous about the post ofneeding a jig for the frame and the 2 peice cab. I hope mine goes well.
  9. Hello everyone. Im getting back into the hobby again and have a few questions about a few things. Im going to make this truck a custom and was wanting to put some dual 10" stacks on this rig. I bought some 7/16 aluminum tube that's .30 thick as I thought I read thatwas the scale size being it was a1/24 scale model. Also going to use aome aluminum to make a texas style bumper for it. I have a buffer to get the shine but dont want it to look stupid and not correct to scale. There are a lot of trucking companys out here and I have a friend that is deep into that scene. Possibly a money maker in the long run. Its been a while so bear with me on this voyage. Thanks for your time!
  10. Aloha everyone. Its great to be a part of this fourm! Getting back into the hobby as I took a break for a few years and now getting back into it. Recently got a 1/24 scale amt freightliner cabover dual drive and a amt lowboy on the way that should be here monday. Got a few questions for you all and if you have a few for me your more then welcome to ask away! Enjoy
