Has that Revell Crown Victoria come out yet?

Revell wants to sell CV kits as well. Hence why they are making one despite the fact that LIndberg has one already.

but then why a old CV? unless is very cheap. Why not the later CV? Would Revell be starting at from scratch with the tooling etc, it seems everywhere in the US you can get the Lindberg kit, cheap too

That my friend, is one of the great mysteries of the modeling world!

This could also be a tooling that was started long ago but never finished or not put into production for various reasons.

I noticed some other people asked Revell why on their FB page but never replied. Was there a company that had the rights to the modern CV/Interceptor so only done in diecast? I would have bought 10 in plastic at least. I know some people say kids dont know what a old CV is, they only see a cop car..........but then today its not always kids who buy kits, and if they do its only one of a type, not like us that might have 2 or 3 in a stash.

Only thing is i can see, is that Revell is all over the world...... Lindberg never imported (i asked them a few months ago direct) their cop car kits of the CV and Charger, saying no interest at all here........but i know thats BS, UK has a big US and cop car following in modelling

But it's not realy a kit, but rather an un-assembled toy, aimed at kids....just like the '15 Mustang and Audi R8.

Yeah, I would like the last gen Crown Vic too, but like you said, for many a police car is a police car, whatever the make and model....

Nobody owns the rights to a Crown Vic kit but Ford. If a manufacturer wants to make one, they pay Ford first, so Motormax making them in diecast has no effect. I agree with everyone that Revell's choice of using the 95-97' CV, which Lindberg did incredibly well, is a poor one. The 98-11' CV was one of the longest running body styles ever, and still nada in plastic....so far, it just seems a really bad idea, they'd have been better off tooling up a new body style Charger for a police car toy model, I'm sure it would sell incredibly....

Because 93.4% of the people who end up buying the kit will do so because it's a police car, not because it's a specific make and model of police car. Might they garner some extra sales from hardcore police car builders if they release the most recent CV? Probably, but probably not enough to make them think twice about doing it.

I disagree to a point, its of my opinion that if they did the 1999-2012 body style, that it would sold really well, heck, I would probably bought a few cases , maybe not at one time, but over the course of maybe a few years.

I would have to agree with you Casey, and I'm not even a "hardcore" police modeler. I would jump on this kit even faster when it's released if it were the newer Vic, since they are still a common site, but most of the police kits in my collection are there for one reason, the police equipment. There are even a few I have, like the Exposition and AMT's Camaro, that are there just because they have the police equipment, and some, like multiples of the Lindberg Charger, for the extra light bars. Since I build light and heavy commercial, one can never have too many spare light bars! :-) I even have a few of AMT's Tahoes (and likely this will be done with the Exposition too) that will be getting one of the spare light bars to be made into DOT Motor Carrier enforcement vehicles. After all, someone has to keep my big rigs in line!

I bought 5 Lindberg CHargers, cost me a small fortune to get them shipped over here, I would buy more if i could get the shipping down, almost made 3 already. I would have bought again the same, if not more numbers if it had been a later CV, even a basic kerbside like the Lindberg one would have done.

I have made the AMT Tahoe, as a St Louis FD, i want a few more, but again hard to get over here.
