  1. The decals where made by my best friend and graphic artist, Tim Kustom, per my design.
  2. Yes... The base was the old MPC kit
  3. WIP photos here http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b165/tom...sser/?start=all
  4. May I first apoligize for not posting on this forum as often as I should. My latest finished build... One of my most fun projects of recent years because of fact that I have mentally planed this one for the last 40 years... I swear.
  5. Ok... You forced my hand here, Gregg... I'd decided not to do this at the risk of being biased but here is my nomination for the best model car ever built. If you'd go back and read my other post above you would understand what it means to me to have close special friends in this hobby which I cherish the most. Just a little background first... Pat Covert jokingly commented once at a club meeting on who and why would anyone want or care to build a model of a Soviet designed Trabant... Tony "Tinman" Inman, Sam "Bobo" Hamilton, Tim "Kustom" Kolankiewicz, Myself along with detail parts donated by Dirk Johnson (founder and former owner of Detail Master) and a donated rare resin cast Buick V6 NASCAR engine donated by John Larken all pitched in together to build this to answer Pat's question. How often can a well built model car that employed 6 modelers come together as sweet as this one?... It was featured in Scale Auto a few years ago and it's still my personal favorite... So shoot me!
  6. Thanks Robert... I'm very proud that you nominated my chopper and glad you appreciate it but in my opinion it doesn't deserve to even mentioned with all the other builds here. Tim "Kustom" Kolankiewicz linked me to this thread a couple days ago wanting me to add my list and I've been spending time searching inside my little bald head to come up with my favorite model cars and I can't... Everytime I think of one or two it seems I replace them with others so I gave into my true feelings. All I can seem to come up with is not the individual models but the modelers themselves... If I made a list of my favorite models it would be very biased based on the modelers that I've befriended so I decided tonight not to nominate any models. Hope it's ok and I understand it may be "off topic" but I will mention a few ###### good modeling friends that I've made over the years and communicate with on a regular basis excluding the late Ricky Couch and Augie Hiscano. Tim Kolankiewicz Ken Hamilton Pat Covert Sam Hamilton Ricky Couch Augie Hiscano John and Trea Larkin Tony "Tinman" Inman Ted "Chopper" Lear Virgil Suareze Paul Farley Bob Downie I could add about 30-40 more but then it would get even more boring. "The best friends I've ever made in my life build model cars."
  7. http://www.rickycouch.com/ Thanks Lyle... I sent several that I have of Ricky and his builds.
  8. Ricky was a good friend of mine and we spoke several times about these builds as they were going together. Thanks for the help from Tim Kustom, I was very lucky to have these temporally in my possession to photo and post for you guys.
  9. Nice job, Tim... I'll come out this weekend to see it... I'll bring the beer and you get the steaks
  10. Tim... You've made a silk purse out of a sow's ear... Love that color.
  11. New guy to this forum and my first post... This is my latest finished build... I have 3,126.25 on the work bench.
  12. Ron... That is beautiful. You know I live over in the next state to the west of you and was lucky enough to witness several "Skeeter" races in the mid to late 60's and you pulled yours off well. The races I saw were all on 1/4-5/8's mile paved tracks... The front runners normally used older sprint car frames and bodies... They were all running fuel injected big block engines using alcohol mixed with a little nitro.... The hot flames from the headers, the smell and your burning eyes was so sweet. You have sparked me into maybe building one myself... Thanks Ron.
