  1. Thanks for new comments. The engine room is box stock with no wires added. I am attaching the interior and chasis pics.
  2. Thanks everyone for your reply and comments. I'll upload the engine room picture and some other pictures later after I upload them. The Oregon license plate came with the kit. The Testors one-coat lacquer is a great paint that airbrushes like a dream. I have used it before with ease and good results as shown in this Camaro concept car snap kit: The Western Select clear coat (RS6200) mixes with the hardener (RS9002) in a 4:1 ratio, just like many other urethane 2-part clear coat. It is just a lot cheaper than the name brand. The hardener comes in two temperature range: 55F-75F and 75F-95F for different drying environment. Here is a picture of what the can looks like.
  3. I used Testors Mystic Emerald One-Coat Lacquer spray can in an airbrush. It is a great paint that covers well and can be thinned with regular lacquer thinner. I ended up using only about 1/5 can to paint the whole car. Clear coat is 2-part urethane (Western) bought from Sherwin Williams for about $25/quart. Chrome trims are Bare Metal Foil's ultra bright chrome. The other chrome parts (e.g. bumpers) are factory stock. Pictures were taken outdoor with no direct sun and a Nikon fully auto digital camera (in macro flower mode) and steady hands.
  4. Thanks for everyone's pointers. I was able to fit the chasis and body together. I learnt doing it by opening up a new Z/28 kit and tried fitting the chasis and body together. I found that I needed to squeeze the front wheel wells to flex the chasis into the front part of the body first before I worked the rear part. So I went back to my painted kit and removed the front wheels before attempting to fit again. I am glad I did not have to give up on this almost finished kit.
  5. I am having great difficulty in putting the body and chasis together in the final assembly. Is there any tip or trick that I ought to know to make the final assembly possible? Thanks!
