Hi! I'm new to the forum; I usually build model ships but couldn't resist building one of these:
except as an FJ40, my teenage dream car... well, at least one of my teenage dream cars.
Here are a couple of "out of the box" photos:
I plan to shorten the rear end to FJ40 size, redo or even completely scratchbuild the frame and suspension, add some radial tires and (hopefully) make an accurate (and removable) hardtop and detailed interior. I'm not sure if I will do the engine compartment yet, but it would be fun to do a swapped in Chevy 350 V8.
Step #1 is to get midevil on the kit and start cutting stuff up:
I got the doors and hood off in good condition, cut off the windshield, opened the grill slats beneath it, cut out the molded radiator grills and shortened the wheelbase. More to come...
