martinfan5
Starting working on this one, and as the title says, its going to be the Rocket Bunny Express, it was mentioned by James and or Newport that I should get it for the Toyota 86 Rocket Bunnys I have built, and I sort of liked the idea, so here we are. I am/did/was planning on getting a "newer" cab to go with the trailer, but seeing that is not a "cheap" kit, I am going to build the tractor and then later on switch out the cabs. I am going to say that this kit really does show just how the old the tooling is, pretty much every part needs some sort of clean up, and so far, there are a few notiable fit issues, one being the exhaust pipes, the under pipe is way to long, and the piping from the engine is to long , so trimming is need, which I did, but I cut it to short. Fujimi I did work to convert this one from its motorized days, and I cant say how well or not of a job they did, but they left the metal axle rod that is used for the drive shaft in. So far, this is a kit that you get for the trailer and not the tractor, as the trailer so far, looks a lot better off than the truck, enough of the blah blah blah, time for the photos. cab floor All these parts where chromed plated

martinfan5
interesting project. the trailer offers a bit more space then you need for one rocket bunny so i am looking forward on this projct Actually, not really, in real life, you would not be able to load one on the bottom row, the space between the wheel wells is not wide enough for one to fit through, even a mid-sized car is to wide. Plus there is a big air tank on the right side that sits in the front of the wheel well, and that gets in the way too. Man, this looks good....I've seen this kit a few times on ebay and thought about acquiring one, but I'm just too broke, these days....But as soon as I can I'm totally gonna get one of these.... Its of my honest opinion that is a kit that you only get for the trailer, the tooling for the truck is horrid, and I am not looking forward to finishing it, but the trailer tooling is very good. I am sticking with my plan of swapping out tractors for the trailer, but dont let that stop you from getting one.

martinfan5
have you tried to modify the wheels wells? hope to get mine these days and planned to put some cars on it aswell.... There is very little room there to be gained , the only way really is to raise that area above the wheels

Casey
Looks like there's room for a kei car on the truck's deck. Looks good, Jon, and there won't be any worries about you being able to fill it up.

Hessel Hemstra
This kit is a reissue of the old Mitsuwa kits. There were plans to maken four truck models: a Mitsubishi Fuso, a Hino Super Dolphin, a Nissan Diesel and an Isuzu. Only the first two mentioned were realized and off course the car transporter. The trucks were available as a tractor or dump truck. The car transporter was available separate and with the Fuso or Hino included. There was also a very rare kit called 'Art Dumptruck' It was a Japanese style mock up. This kit has several colored lenses and a completely chromed cab. I own one of them....as all the other ones. The Fuso was build as a dump truck and the Hino as a tractor. There or still several in my collection waiting to be build. Look at our archive for a complete list of the kits: http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truckkit_instructions/mitsuwa/ I don't know about what kits Fujimi will bring now. The build of Jonathan looks very nice. Hessel Edited November 14, 2014 by Hessel Hemstra
