The Long, Long Project! Finished! (pics page 2)

Recommended Posts

This will be the thread for my slow but ongoing project. I plan on rebuilding my Monogram F350 into a street-truck with plenty of custom work, and building a matching boat/trailer to go with.

Since I'm currently in college, I won't have a chance to work on the F350 until winter break, but I have gotten a start on the boat and trailer (which were obtained in a trade with member route66modeler).

To begin, I decided to rid of the horrible excuse of a boat trailer and build my own using 1/4" x 3/16" rectangle tubing, as well as parts of the original trailer. Here are some pictures of what I built up the past couple days (don't mind the grainy pics, I had to use my phone to take pictures).

As you can see, I reused the tongue, box base, fenders, boat holder...things, lights, and the axle assembly. Enjoy!

Thanks for the bump, great timing! :P

Here's some pics of the painted trailer and boat. Eventually I'll be flocking the carpet gray, so it won't look so cheesy haha (no pun intended).

I'll be putting on the blue stripes on the boat that came with the kit as well.

No problem Jordan, ###### that's a bright set of Colors. But it looks good on it.

Got some more work done this weekend.

Started off by painting the interior, hull bolsters, and inner fenders with gray primer to simulate carpeting (since I didn't feel like dealing with flocking haha).

Then I Painted the lights on the trailer and got the wheels put on.

And I added a few parts to the boat as well, such as the trolling motor, gauge cluster, steering wheel, and throttle control.

Sounds cool! I had before built up the red version (has 2 windshields and a wrap-around bench up front) and am now building up the blue version (single windshield). My concept for this boat is a bass boat built up to look like a custom speed boat. Well that, and match the paintjob I have planned for the truck later on.

Oh, and it is quite fun! It would be nice if they would make more boat/trailer kits of the pleasure craft/speed boat variety.

Well I was finally able to complete the boat and trailer! I installed a spare wheel and tire, installed the bow support/winch from the Waverider kit, put on the brightwork on the boat, and installed the wiring to the engine.

I also stripped the paint off my F-350 kit, and have started spray painting the chassis, though I don't have any pictures of it yet.
