Garbage Trucks

Recommended Posts

Years ago my friend and I got a commision job from BFI for some models. We used Jim Etter cabs and pick up arms, and the MPC mixer chassis. The containers were all scratch built with evergreen sheet and sqaure stock

The conventional is the AMT Mack

Git outta here! You scratched those? Wow.

On the container I used sheet for the sides then placed the uprights. Since the uprights are at an angle I used .010 thin plastic to make the sides of the uprights gluing the piece on then shaving it with an xacto blade along the upright which gave the wedge shape of the upright.

I remeber BFI from back home (minnesota) and vaguely here in mississippi, i think they got bought out by some other trash company??

awsome trucks!

I think they got folded into Waste Management, many companies did!

Those are really cool trucks. What did BFI want them for? Was there an event? Display at corporate office?
