  1. Here’s my build of The King’s 1968 Roadrunner. I combined an AMT body with a Polar Lights Charger. As you can see, I didn’t pay enough attention to the roll cage. But otherwise, I like it !
  2. Man, that looks great ! I built this Thunderbird back when the car was current. I had to buy aftermarket decals because they wouldn’t put beer decals in model kits for a few years. I still have that one, and I built a MGD Grand Prix last year, using those Powerslide decals.
  3. It is exactly the same chassis. They did tool up a new air intake snorkel though.
  4. I painted the body with Tamiya TS-16. But the chassis is pretty much out of the box. Thanks for looking !
  5. I’m happy to see these kits being released. But I’m very confused as to what happened to the tooling for the original releases. Where is the long bed, regular cab truck that came first ? Where is the more detailed chassis from the old 454SS kit ? It makes no sense.
  6. I completely forgot about this Monogram ‘83 kit. I know this tooling was released as a “Simon & Simon” ‘82 Z/28, and later as a European export “Z/28 E” kit. I also remember that the nose was never modified into the more rounded ‘85 nose, and that I’d like to find wheels and decals to create an IROC Z with this new release.
  7. Thanks ! This is actually inspired by the ‘62 my own grandmother bought new. I was born in ‘68, so it was already pretty old by the time I noticed it.
  8. Here’s what I did with a Moebius gasser Nova kit. Little bit of kit bashing and old fashioned ingenuity !
  9. I recently built both Charger kits. I pretty much agree with the other’s assessment of both kits. The funny thing about the PL Charger is that I built an old Earnhardt ride with mine. And all the pictures I found if the real car look just as wonky as the kit.
  10. That looks great ! Did you simply use the decals from the Monte Carlo kit ? Thanks !
  11. Is that resin body still available ? I’d like to build a Dale Earnhardt version of that car.
  12. I just rebuilt one of these trucks from a chopped up eBay purchase. I’d love to see it reissued someday.
  13. I bought that initial ‘69 Charger kit and Revell sent me a new, corrected body. So my kit has that previous lettering I guess, but the correct body. Also, all of the Pro-Modeler Chargers I’ve bought had two complete engines in them. A 440 & a Hemi. Plus the racing parts previously mentioned. Drag racing parts for the Charger, NASCAR stuff for the Daytona. And FWIW, I still haven’t actually finished either of those Chargers I bought all those years ago. ?
  14. I have this kit on my desk right now. Those extra wheels are actually Magnum 500 style wheels. Which tells me they do indeed have a ‘69 up their sleeves, as those wheels never showed up on the ‘68s. Right ? But I stole a set of big n little Cragars from a Camaro kit anyway, so those stock wheels are staying on the tree, where they belong. Thanks for the great preview Bill !
