hooknladderno1
Hi Guys, Can anyone help me identify this style of Peterbilt cab? The truck dates back to at least 1985. It was featured in the old Fire Apparatus Model Builders Assocition(FAMBA) newsletter of that year. Pretty sharp looking all wheel drive heavy rescue. The truck was built by Emergency One, and is reportedly still in front line service in Hayden, CO. Sorry that the photo is so small... Thanks. lapazleo
I'm thinking 357 but Tim our resident Pete expert should be able to help you better.
Danno
You're looking for the West Routt Fire Protection District, out of Hayden, CO. They have a limited website, but they also have a facebook page ~ you might get some help there. Here's a shot of the rig you're looking at: And a thumbnail of their barn: They have some very interesting apparatus, including several Petes. Good luck. mackinac359
348 SBFA 6x6. The 348 6x6 used the 359 SBFA hood. The trucks were ordered as 359 6x6's but 'marketing' wouldn't let a 359 be built as 6x6 so it is a 348. Here's a 348 6x6 The fire appuratus units have the standard grille screen but the sides are extended lower. (the unit above is was for a mixer and the grille screen needed to be fixed to the radiator for clearance from the front PTO)The cab has the severe service windshield mask on the fire unit.
