I started Flintstone phantom Hudson pickup. Resin body is quite good outside but inside is rough casting and needs some putty, Donor kit is Moebius Hornet '52.

Hood needs sanding to fit in place and chassis was 4 mm too long. Spare wheel box, gas tank and wheel housings were removed.

Flintstone recommends to use backseat and parcel shelf but used front seats as they are more realistic and can recline. There is room behind seat for luggages.

Can somebody measure front and rear track width from a built model? Rear wheels don't fit but side frame bars can bend a bit to get more room.

Real Hornet specs:

wheelbase 119.9 in | 3045 mm

front track 58.5 in | 1486 mm

rear track 55.5 in | 1410 mm

Edit: corrected dimensions

All engine and chassis parts are now painted. For body I chose Jefferson Green and Mint Green combo from hudson colors.

When the rest of the body is painted I start to built engine. Hudson H-145 inline six spark plug wire order is 1-5-3-6-2-4 clockwise as most I6 has.

Hudson's paint is polished and then coated with Future now but it is not enough smooth and glossy I expected. Can I polish it before I start foiling? I'm not very familiar with Future.

Nice!

I noticed the same thing about the JF wagon body- it's too short to fit over the chassis, but all the other kit parts seemed to fit it just fine.

I have that wagon body too but donor kit will be different. Maybe from a modern mopar ;)
