  1. Brakes painted, washed and weathered - Header / Exhaust system painted and installed - Not going to lie ... I was downright NERVOUS to paint the body! It's started out okay. Primed with Testors metalizer Aluminium and has a few coats of Testors Guards Red enamel. Some of the ducting and rear quarters are gunmetal - here I'm masking for that spray pass - Drive and rear tranny installed - Front underbody and suspension masked and sprayed - Cockpit side panels two-toned - masked and getting second coat - Air intake after masking, spray and touchup - And after washes, top coats, details and decals -
  2. Thank you everyone. Good to be back! Updates: Adding some PE rivets to the engine. These guys are TINY. I wasn't fond of the fitment of the distro cap and it didn't look like reference pictures. I found an old piece of turned aluminum that seemed to work better. After some paint and wash - Engine installed and cockpit wash - And clean up - More later!
  3. Roll cage was cemented together and dry fit into the cockpit - Another shot with rear deck lid dry fit - This front grill area was molded closed. Opening it up for a proper open PE grill. Not sure if this is the best approach for doing this. Also, this area was very thick and I lack the skill to thin the area to look more scale. Open to suggestions! While I was at it ... might as well open these grill parts as well. Molded closed and Tamiya wants you to use decals for the detail. That just won't cut it!
  4. Hi all. First post and first kit since 12 or 13 years old. I built a workbench in the garage with my dad and needed an excuse to use it. While I haven't been building in 25 or so years, I've still collected kits here and there. I figured I would start off with this Alfa kit as I'm not really attached to the subject so if I end up totally botching the job I won't be too upset. Build of the Tamiya Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI - Fitting the engine and trans together. Sanded down rivets and Alfa logo in hopes to use PE details - Chassis and cockpit floor had significant seam lines and injections marks - Dry fit of exhaust system - And dry fit of rear suspension and drive - More clean up - PE detail on rotors and radiators. This required quite a bit of filing and sanding. I'm not sure if there's an easier method but this approach was laborious. Fitment of the PE rotors wasn't great and required plenty of filing on the PE part. The sheet was from Studio 27. This intake cover piece had closed grill molding. I trimmed that away for an open PE grill. Injection holes filled and more cleanup on chassis / cockpit -
