Can we see some scratchbuilt things?

Those N scale vehicles are cool. Small stuff. I made a completely scratch-built Jeep pedal car from strene sheet. The wheel covers are '40 Ford hubcaps and the steering wheel is a metal gear from a watch with the gears sanded off. I drew up my own decals for it too.

Here is the Dodge dumper I built in 2019. Box is all scratch built, tool boxes and running boards all 4 shocks and front bumper. Frame was lengthened using styrene tubing. Base was a glue bomb little red express. I am also still working on the scratch built camper and 66 suburban. Had a blast building this one. Also currently workin on a 90s F250 lifted 4x4 bug out vehicle with a 7.3 powerstroke and scratch building a camper body for that.  Will be posting some pics of that soon I hope.

What diamond plate are you using?  I have some that does not have as good a relief as yours.

Ferrari tool bag, most tools came from the Fujimi Daytona, but needed to make about half of them.  Used a cordless drill along with the Dremel, and knife.  Wine bottle lead foil for the leather.  Real wood hammer handle.

Wow. Some really cool stuff here.  My modifications don't hold a candle to most of what I see.  But here are some of mine:

2008 Mustang:

  • Hood scoop, cold air intake and plenum cover to match my 2008 Mustang

My friend's 200 Mustang:

  • -Grill and pony corral to turn a 99 Cobra  into a standard Mustang
  • -Side scoops and modified rear wing

Air conditioner units mounted on top of Metra F40 locomotive

Since folks are showing truck bodies.. I scratch built that passenger jitney body on my 1950 Ford pickup. The side panels were cut from. Tom Daniel Paddy Wagon, and the rest of the body is all from Evergreen sheet. The roof was made from basswood, and the shingles were cut into squares and applied randomly.

Nice work on the Frenzel blower. The originals real items are very rare now with only about 12 known to exist. You build is an obvious nod to cancer survivors which ii great thing to do. My wife of 56 years is a two time 20+ year breast cancer survivor so I personally know how that can turn your live upside down. Thanks for sharing.

  • 6 months later...

Since posting my initial pictures, i have spent most this year working on rebuilding the rear of the real car as pictured.

I have done some on the model though and am reaching the stage when i might try to cast a resin copy.

I also dabbled with 3D printing some wheel center's for one of my other projects

Here’s a couple of things I incorporated into the Crown Vic I built earlier this year

cobbled up the inner door panels of the Crown Vic and inserted the armrest from a 2014 Mustang Inner door panel. Scratch built? More like morphed together...
