  1. I just Landed my dream job on Thursday. I am now the Consignment Manager for Streetside Classics in Fort Worth, TX. I basically shop for classic cars for a living, get paid to go to car shows and such. Aside from that I have my own apparel business as well. The website will be launching very soon.
  2. I received an eBay purchase today. It actually turned out to really be to good to be true. The most exceptional eBay experience I have had yet. $33.99 free shipping from Ohio a Fujimi 1/16 scale Ferrari F40 Enthusiast kit. Almost every bag was unopened. The only one that was was the body. It did not include the instructions manual but I have already downloaded the pages from 1999.co.Jp they scan the instructions to their website. Needless to say I got a killer deal on this.
  3. I have my heart set on building one of these GTO kits with a very specific picture in mind. I just don't know wich brand GTO to go with. I will be watching this one.
  4. it also takes exposure to modeling. Unfortunetley due to the reduction of availablity of kits kids these days aren't exposed as much as we used to be. It takes parents getting involved to keep this hobby going. Hence why I wanted to do the "Make and Take" at the car show. Expose a younger genteration to modeling.
  5. The local Hobbytown USA has contests about 3 times a year. I am trying to do my part in keeping the hobby alive. I am organizing a 1:1 car show for this weekend on Sat. Hobbytown USA is hosting their contest at the car show as well as I purchased a st of kits for a "Make and Take" for the younger kids. I want this hobby to go on because that is where I got my start in cars. See post http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=56698
  6. Ok here is the video for the car show. We shot it at Boardwalk Ferrari in Plano, TX. It is an open invitation with registration at the door for the car show and the model contest. I have also set up a "Make and Take" area for the younger crowd. I purchased a set of the 1963 Corvette snap kits. These will also be free of charge for the kids coming. It is limited to the first 24. The Car show is this Saturday I wanted to get anyone who will be showing to RSVP to me whether on this site or throught the info@freedomlifedfw.com email by Wednesday so that I can get an accurate count of cars for the food vendors and parking spaces. I can't wait to see you there. Thank you, Gabriel

  8. Hello Everyone. We are having a car show / model contest on April 28th in Carrollton, TX just north of Dallas. This is an open competition with no entry fees. Everyone is welcome, if you are interested please send an email to the address below. I look forward to seeing you there.
  9. Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Gabriel Richardson and I wanted to announce that I am involved in setting up a car show in the Dallas / Forth Worth area. This car show is going to be multi faceted; we will be having everything from muscle cars to exotics. I am also inviting you all to a model car exhibition that will be there as well. There will be no charge to display your cars. The venue will be at Freedom Life Church in Carrollton TX, the address is 2435 E. Hebron Pkwy, Carrollton, TX 75010. The show will be on Saturday, April 28th from 9:30 until about 3:00. There will be no charge to display your vehicle and no charge to spectate. The purpose of this event is to get like minded people together that enjoy cars. I am working on having a few local companies there. I am promoting the family side of the automotive world with hobbies as well. I am looking to have a model car show as well as an RC car exhibition. If you would like to participate please send me an email, 4dcustoms@gmail.com . Everyone is welcome all makes and models, we do want to keep the subject matter interesting so please refrain from bring the 1992 Ford Taurus, unless of course it has some sort of ridiculous engine swap or something.
  10. well quite frankly, I did not have the link, thank you very much. It is very appreciated.
  11. I have been searching on here to figure out what parts of the micro mesh everyone is using. it looks as if you guys are using 3500-12000 grit pads/cloths, but which kit do I get? I have searched on amazon and found alot of products and wanted to see which ones you guys are using. Here is the link. First one includes the pads with the foam http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Mesh-Model-Polishing-Kit/dp/B000X4J4G4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1288908252&sr=8-2 This kit includes just the cloths http://www.amazon.com/Rockler-Micro-Mesh-12-000/dp/B001F7LVNC/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1288908252&sr=8-6 Or do I just get both? Thank you for the help.
  12. WOW!!!!That thing is just nasty...... I would love to see that on the racetrack.
  13. So during the process of this first part of the build I discovered a new tool we had in the house. My wife purchased this to take care of the dogs nail but didn't quite work so look gets to adopt this nice little tool. Basically a battery powered low speed dremel. Helped me shape the styrene for the header flanges without overheating and cutting to much. Also helped me take care of getting rid of the plastic behind the grill, still working on that one. I also worked a little bit on the distributor. Sorry guys but I will be doing everything I can myself, minus a PE set from Model Car Garage.
  14. Ok Ladies and Gentlemen, this is my very first WIP so here we go. Yes another 69 Camaro this is the first one I have worked on in 10 years so I plan on going all out on this one. As the title states I have done alot of research and have alot of reference photos that I will be using. Any comments or recommendations will be welcome and taking into consideration during this build. I will say this, it will probably be a lengthy build due to life, children and such so please bear with me. I have every intention of completing this on here. So lets get started. Of course one of the first things done is glue the two halves of the engine and transmission assembly and sand the seems away to be nice and smooth. Now through reading other posts about the Revell 69 Camaro kit, I read about some people saying that these kits do not come with flanges on the headers, so thinking myself "we can't have that" behold the beauty of Evergreen sheet styrene, some tools, and a little bit of patience.
  15. Thank you guys for the info, ewaskew thank you for the pics that really does help me, the Tamiya combination you did looks great but seems to have alot of red in it. That bike is awesome as well. The Hugger orange is definately what I am looking for, obviously since it is the factory Chevy orange color. But how does that paint spray and will I have to use a different primer, I am using the Tamiya super fine grey.
