jbwelda
so tell us a little bit about these cars, like for instance, i assume you may have had these since they first came out? (i assume that because you have boxes for them) or did you recently find them somewhere? are the ones with the cox chassis 1/24 or 1/32? those monogram ones with the kind of monocoque chassis, they came with those? i have a few of those style chassis but have always wondered where they originated from. do you actually run these or are they display only models? do you have a home track? got any photos? if youre in california can i come over and play??? edit: hell i may come out to texas just to run! end edit
Jairus
These cars are not like this out of the box guys. They are painted, modified and cleaned up way better than out of the box!
Modellpularn
WOW!!!! You have built some gorgeous cars!!! I love the Chaparrall and my favorite; the Cheetah. I'm a big fan of the COX cars, I have a partly restored 2D, and a Cheetah body kit with spare chassis parts. Again, simply stunning slot cars!!!! 8)
jbwelda
>These cars are not like this out of the box guys. well if youre referring to my comments, i kinda figured that. no, i knew that, mostly because ive got a number of those cars still in the box and/or ive built them up and modified them similarly myself. im most impressed with the paint jobs...thats why i asked if they were display only. my personal philosophy on such things (usually anyway) is: build em nice, take photos, then put them on the track. at that point they kind of stop looking so nice! great work man, i just want to know some details as a way of getting a conversation going in what i thought was pretty much a dead forum. The Cox cars are 1/24 "do you actually run these or are they display only models?" I don't run these cars Bill - I sell them to collectors and they mostly display them. "do you have a home track? got any photos?" Yes - Here's a setup we did using Scalextric sport track - I'm not in the photos because I'm taking them I'll have some photos soon of cars that I've done
