Chris guthro
Started a new build, it's an AMT international transtar 4300, building it as a daycab, and also installing a 3406b CAT. I bought plaskits resin 72" Hendrickson suspension to give it a heavy haul look. What a great job Dan does at casting as well!! Plan to make it similar to the western star I'm also building. Jim B
Should be nice with the Canadian Spread on the back. Are you going with the 10-hole disks all around?
disabled modeler
Always liked this kit...sounds like it will be a nice project.
Chris guthro
Well some progress, shoe horning the 3406b CAT into her from a revell peterbilt. It fits in their great, little tight around the starter and the frame. But looks a lot better than the old 903 cummins haha.
kilrathy10
I see you're getting it together....Looking pretty good, Man...
Jim B
Good upgrade with the engine. The engine in the kit isn't a Cummins 903, it's an International V800 (also known as The Boat Anchor).
Chris guthro
I never even look at it, but yea wasn't big enough haha
Brinx
Looking good so far Chris, I like the working suspension idea...I might have a go at something like that next time.
Chris guthro
Here's my latest progress, I added about a 1-1/4 to the frame, still unsure If I'm gonna add the bunk or not. Add some more weight to it to slow the kitty cat down haha
dad vader
Also just to point out the engine in the Revell Peterbilt that you are using is an "A" model, not a "B". Edited December 16, 2013 by dad vader
Chris guthro
Got some more for to my international, painted and did a little detailing on the CAT, did a slight black wash on the block to look a little oily. Paint on the frAme is duplicolor ford cardinal red. Still a little unsure what I'm goin to paint the cab and hood, I used a bumper from a bill sighs peterbilt. redneckrodder
How about 2 tone black and yellow with a red pinstripe separating them
Chris guthro
I actually like the idea of the black and yellow two tone!! I might go with that! I'm unsure about the bunk to be honest, just can't see it lookin as good as a nice headache rack haha
Car Man
it might just be me or does it look like the frame is bent really badly other then that looks great!! Edited December 30, 2013 by Car Man
kilrathy10
I really like that red frame.....Good job on the stretch, Man....
Chris guthro
I think it might be my fifth wheel plate lifted a bit, because all the wheels sit level and everything, may be the angle too, but I honestly have no Idea, thanks for pointing it out to me tho! Chris guthro
Well truck is almost complete, it's duplicolor black and ford cardinal red. It's got the kit bunk on it now. Jus have work exhaust and intake plumbing. Few odd little details as well[br][br][br][br][br][br][br][br][br][url
Old Buckaroo
Very Nice build - that black cab looks like business ! I have so been thinking about getting this kit, now I am convinced.
Chris guthro
Yea it's a great kit!! I put about 1/2 in on the frame!! It's not completely done yet, needs the door handles, and quarter fenders!
olsbooks
Really nice. The Canadian spread and headache rack make it! Is is just me or the last pic but did you slap a "big baloney" front tire on it? Canadian spread with a 18K front axle surely works if that is what you did. Throw some Candian doubles or a Michigan train behind it. You got the power!.....Just thinking out loud...not trying to tell you what to do. Nice job. Nice to know the engine swap went well. That goes in the "must try sometime soon" category.
Chris guthro
Thank you! Yea I out them on just for a picture, haha I don't care for them as much as the regular tires and wheels. I'd love to have a b train gravel trailer for this! Or maybe a freuhauf flatbed!
