57peppershaker
I picked up one of the Franklin Mint 57 Chevy kits real cheap as it had a missing engine. Does anybody know if these kits share a mould with plastics kits ie AMT or Revell ect ? At the moment I'm unsure to build it as a coupe or convertible, but as it was so cheap its gotta be modified ! AzTom
Those brought good money at one time. You can find the built FM 57's cheap that you can get the engine from. I would think any 1/24 kit engine would work just fine as well.
BDSchindler
I know the person that actually designed that kit for Franklin Mint yers ago and I have an email out to him. As soon as I find out, I will post it. I would imagine that just about any engine will work with a bit of modification. Just a note...nearly every diecast car made has its origins from a kit...many of them from several kits. Danbury went the extra mile where the designer (a very good friend) also made corrections as needed to produce the final results. So chances are an engine from a known kit may suffice.
