Had this 5 buck AMT 1940 Ford coupe in the degreaser.

Untouched seams and flash under red paint ,no primer.

Perfect victim/project.

Going for the Doug Rice '39 Ford style.

Chopped and sectioned body.

Fender skirts still need some work.

Work in progress , that is all.

Thanks y'all.

Got some Dupli-Color hot rod gray primer on it.

Primer showed me some minor bodywork flaws... :(

Meh ... got my sanding sticks out and got to it.

Reshaped the skirts (update later) to a more

tear drop shape.

Super day here in the 'Ol Dominion (Richmond VA)

and didn't take any pixs....sorrrry..had to enjoy the weather.

Going for a dark candy green like Sam Barris Merc.

WIP pixs in tattle tail primer

looking really good, I like that you left the drip molding on it adds to the flow. If you want a super sparkle green use the "Metalflecks"silver base and HOK Organic green for a finished color, or you can use the Metalflecks base and Testors Candy Green for a color coat, in scale that silver base looks like a metalflake with a candy over it.

Appreciate the paint tip.

Evergreen #100 .010x.020 was used to replace the gutter. The quarter window shape was also kept the same after the chop.If you look up my Lindberg '40,it has a new gutter too.

Chopped '40s seldom look good, but this one does. The slanted posts don't hurt either.Whenever I build teardrop skirts,I usually bend 'em aound a light bulb,to give 'em some bubble, the bottom flares came later. The Sam Green sounds good.Nice work!
