Model Cars Magazine Forum

Hello from England!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've just joined this forum and I'd like to introduce myself...

My name is Jake, I'm 15 and live in England. I usually build either 1/20 F1 cars and 1/24 'sportscar' race cars. Whilst on vacation in Florida over Easter, I bought a few Revell kits of two of my favourite muscle cars - 2010 Camaro SS and 2013 Boss 302. I also bought the 1932 Ford 5-window coupe hot rod kit as well.

There isn't much interest in American cars on the european forums, so I hope to do a WIP of my Camaro and Mustang which I'm building on here soon. I'm building them at the same time.

I am very interested in all kinds of motorsports - F1, MotoGP, NASCAR, DTM, GT3, Endurance, etc.

That's all from me now, I'll try and post some progress photos of my Camaro and Mustang in the WIP section soon.

Jake

Hi Jake,

Welcome to the forum!

Thought your article in the latest IPMS UK magazine was good - looks like you were too modest to mention that here in your introduction.

You'd be surprised how much interest regarding American cars , customs, hot rods etc. there is here in Britain; you just need to look! I'm a member of the IPMS UK Hot Rod and Custom Car SIG and you'll find me at their stand at SMW or on the ASCV Wombourne stand at other shows. The next show I am planning to go to is the Birmingham show on July 27th.

I'm working my way through a series of '32 Fords at the moment (there's a WIP in the pickup section at the moment about my '32 Prostreet pickup) so if you have any questions about that kit you got recently I'll gladly help out.

Get some of your stuff on here - I'm sure people will be suitably impressed.

Thanks for all of your replies. Jim, I'll be at Birmingham, and Telford. Are you going to Sutton Coldfield? I'll check out your SiG stand and maybe contact you when I start my 32 Ford.

I'll get some models posted on here when I get a minute - but I'm very busy with exams at the moment...

Not sure if I'll be going to Sutton Coldfield yet - it clashes with the European Finals at Santa Pod (drag racing) but as I am planning to go to Santa Pod twice earlier in the season I may make Sutton Coldfield (it also clashes with some tenpin bowling coaching I am due to do, but that may not happen). Sutton is usually a good show so it'd be nice to make it.

I assume you're doing your GCSEs, hope they go well!
