First I wanna say that this model has taken "Modeling as a spectator sport" to new heights. I love clicking in on the latest installments, it just makes my day. Part of that is that you are consistently building, no long waits between reports like on my builds!

Second, anyone who hasn't learned something from this thread is brain dead! The skill and imagination that's gone into creating this car is as over the top as the subject matter.

I can't wait to see 'er done! Only then I'll be sad that it's come to an end... kinda like when your favorite show goes off the air!

One of my favorite parts of watching John build is the end of the wip,....Cause you know theres another one brewing already.John your awesome.

John.... those flames look awesome and I love the color. What color is it? I am guessing HOK right? I have been eyeing those flame masks myself and I need to get an order in. Which sets were those from if you dont mind me asking . Again this build is just beautiful and i am loving it. Nice work!

John,

Awesome Paint. I have a newbee question...since the paint for the flames is laid down over the pink, it leaves them looking "3-D", or like they are sitting on top of the pink coat. How do you get the edges to lay flat?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dan........after I lay down the rest of the flames........I will give everything a clear coat........then I will wet sand the clear coat.......then I will lay down another clear coat.........then I will sand again and then give a final clear coat........and everything should be smooth as glass.......thanks :)

Can the flame masks be used more than once or are they a one and done type of deal?

Hi Roger........one and done type.........but,if you want a cool flame job for a decent price without all the hassles ........I highly recommend them........thanks.

@Dan as you are (newbie) Also doing like what John has done makes it matt as 1, (if you wanted a 3d or raise look to a flame you put a clear coat between the color and flame to help raise it.

Thanks! I was asking because in the past I had tried some two tone paint jobs and there was always the definative raise to the second color. I never bothered with "blending" it in, but never thought to ask "how" either!!!
