Cool idea for a load/trailer

Recommended Posts

what scale is that milling machine and where can I buy one?

It should be 1:24 and you can possibly find them in toystores. They are made by DickieToys. Around here every toystore has some of the productline but ToysR'Us have prettymuch all of it. http://www.dickietoys.de/en/home/

I've considered doing a 1:24 WWII fighter on a lowboy, as if it had been recovered and was headed to a museum for restoration. I saw a full size Mig-21PF like that a few years ago.

Last year I got a couple of bananacases from another modeller of old projects and builtups that he had done 20-30 years ago. In among that collection was a Italeri Scania T142 with a flatbedtrailer with Airfix 1:24 Spitfire on the back. He had built the plane like it was a project under transport with the engine mounted in a special frame and the wings put up in another set of specialframes besides the fuselage. Quite a cool build but sadly all painted with a brush and it has been sitting on a shelf for many years so it is full of dust and some parts had come of.

Airfix just released a lovely /24th Hawker Typhoon. :D

I know. I had one (reviewed it for a website in fact), but then sold it, as I needed the cash. I'll get another some day though (I hope). I'm thinking more along the lines of a Bf 109, Fw 190, or Ju 87, all of which are available in 1:24 scale.

Exactly the kind of thing I have in mind; a pretty spiffy way to combine the two interests, I think.

Who did you review for (if you don't mind saying)?

The FSM review said it had fit issues; but it still looks worth buying.

Well as for how much it weighs in at, I've seen a couple real life, that might even be one of them, because the ones I saw were trailers in and of themselves, just like that one. Most of the people who have these, built them themselves. I know they've traveled with the monster truck shows. I have a guy at works who works with Monster jam when they're in the region out here I can ask him if he has the contact information, or if he has any other information on the rig itself.
