James2 Posted November 10, 2013 Share Posted November 10, 2013 I have heard of a technique used when foiling. Scribe along the trim before painting, it allows a cleaner line to follow. Foxer Posted November 10, 2013 Share Posted November 10, 2013 (edited) This is standard procedure for me. It's just to give your knife a deeper groove to follow. You just run a panel scriber along the edge of the trim you are going to foil. There are many types of panel scribers available, of which I have 3 or 4. My favorite is a dental scraper which Micro Mark sells. I like it because it seems to follow curves and corners better, probably just works with MY brain better.
