brad4321
Body is molded in red. I want the body to be white. I covered completely in silver, then several coats of Tamiya white primer. Couple hours later and parts are turning pink. So... 1) Any ideas? 2) I'm not hell bent on the car being white. What colors (I really don't want black or aluminum) would hide the red bleed through? Red? What else?
slusher
I am very surprised it came thru silver but you could have used grey primer then silver then white. I you could go with a red or dark blue..
brad4321
Thanks. I thought for sure the silver would do the trick. Red didn't start to show until about the 3rd or so coat of white primer. Maybe I'll just build a pink 67 Corvette. :/
1972coronet
Michael - I have heard that "Kilz" works quite good as a sealer over red-coloured platic . I've not needed to try "Kilz" just yet ; however , "Mr. Mike" has . It was via his advice to another member that I found this info out . I wish that I could find the thread wherein Mike showcases his use of Kilz . From what I can recall , Kilz lays-down smoothly and is easily wet sanded . Erik Smith
You should be able to seal it with Future as well.
Roncla
Future is always an easy way to seal things off. If you need to get serious move up to an isolator like U-pol Barcoat http://www.u-pol.co.uk/documents/datasheets/tds/BAR-TDS-EN.pdf
