Hayabusa
This is the first US car I´ve built in 15 years, so it was about time. As you can see it´s the `67 Dodge Charger from Revell. It will be built mostly OOB, with just a few additions like ignition wires and a roll cage. It will be a dragracer, but I don´t intend to use all the decals in the kit. Hayabusa
There were som gaps to fill between the floor pan, drivshaft tunnel and firewall. If you follow the instructions you should mount the firewall to the body first, but I mounted it (the firewall) to the chassis first instead, I think it resulted in a better fit. Hayabusa
Here´s the body. I shaved the chrometrim that runs from the upper parts of the front fenders, along the the side. Edited February 16, 2013 by Hayabusa
Hayabusa
The rollcage was made from Evergreen styrene tubing. I got a lot of help from members of this forum when I built the rollcage. Thanks again! The front seat is from a ´69 Dodge Dart GTS. I think it looks better than the original seats. Hayabusa
The paint is off-white/ivory. It´s not super shiny, since I wanted to achieve a somewhat "used look", the same goes for the interior. I plan to weather the engine bay a bit, not much but just to give the impression of a car that has been used for some years, We´ll see how it turns out. Hayabusa
The underside of the car. It will definitely be weatherd.
Hayabusa
I added photoetch seatbelts from Eduard.
Hayabusa
This is how the car looks right now. I´m not totally happy with the model, but I´ve learnt a lot during the progress. I will finish the model, but hopefully the next car will look a lot better.

Builder
Looking real nice ! Clean work. Very neat. I think I have the same kit in an earlier box. Gives me a warm fuzzy - looks like it will be an enjoyable build. Edited February 17, 2013 by Builder
TooOld
I like it too , looks great so far ! I've always liked this body style Charger more than the later bodies . Are those the kits wheels ? They look like Cragar S/S's .
Hayabusa
Thanks! Yes, they´re Cragar S/S's and they came with the kit.
Hayabusa
Update. Put decals on, all are from the kit decal sheet. However, didn´t use all of them. The "Hoosier" script is from a Slixx decal sheet. Edited March 10, 2013 by Hayabusa
scalemodelworld
I think it looks great in the pics - not sure why you seem disappointed. But as I learned from someone on this forum: every build is simply practice for the next build.
Hayabusa
Thanks, Troy. Well, perhaps being disappointed is bit exaggerated. It´s more like, when you build a model you know and see the things that didn´t turn out so good. Others may not see them, but you know where to look. A bit stupid, but still annoying. You right about that - "practice for the next build"
vintagedragfan
I don't see a thing wrong, in fact I think it is awesome, you should be happy with it Stefan, nice work
Jantrix
I think a person who is a perfectionist will be ultimately unhappy with this hobby, period. I think you did a great job that would not look out of place on any contest table. Well done.
