chunkypeanutbutter
You gonna use the funky grille, too? Edited December 24, 2014 by chunkypeanutbutter
JollySipper
Not quite sure, Miles...... I'd like to use the stock grill, but I'm open to suggestions as there are three to choose from.....

FullPowerGarage
Nice work, and I'd go stock grille!
espo
Looks good so far. Back in the day a lot of guys would use a '56 Ford pick-up grill. You may or may not want the V8 emblem. The grill has a little bit of a "hood" over the head lamps. If you use the custom grill with the canted quad head lamps, you might try trimming and bending the front fenders to match. kilrathy10
Good looking project....I'm sure you'll figure out what it is you want to do with it, soon.....I get a lot of inspiration on builds just driving around town....You might try a newer style tonneau cover with a spoiler, or something..... JollySipper
Thanks for showing an interest, guys...... The only thing I am certain I want to do is paint it black, the rest will fall in place hopefully.....
JollySipper
Here's the engine all finished... looks like the cross-over pipe slipped a little, I should probably fix that... Feel free to tell me what you think......!
Tom Geiger
about the stock grille... there were two grilles for Ford pickups in 1953. The kit grille is the high end one, which you don't see a lot in 1:1. The low end grille is more common and all you need to do is cut the 'bumps' off the cross bars and sand it smooth to make the standard grille. I had done that on mine. James2
I like almost every thing about, the wheel tire combo, the stance and I'm sure the grill choice will be cool no matter which one you use. I just can't get past the Chevy fenders! Ford fenders with custom lights would look much better.
JollySipper
Thanks for checking out my progress, Fellas! The Chevy fenders were needed to clear the width of the rear track once I lowered it......

Jantrix
How did you achieve the lowered stance? Did you throw the axles up on top of the leafs?
JollySipper
Yep, that's exactly what I did.....! Kind of a hack job, and I can't use the metal axle in the front, but the kit comes with plastic axles that I cut to long enough to hold the front tires in place....... JollySipper
I was gonna show you how the paint turned out, but photobucket isn't working right now..... I went with a brown because I couldn't find a black like I wanted. It looks OK, maybe I can get pics up later!
